Pienaar Important To Help Jelavic Thrive

Having found a goalscorer in Nikica Jelavic, David Moyes is already looking at players who can help supply the Croatian International with more chances. In that respect, the Everton manager sees the need to sign Steven Pienaar on a permanent deal.

Moyesy said: "We're now looking at what goes with Jelavic, what would be good to put with him, what type of player we can buy in the future. In your mind, you are building a team because you have a piece in the jigsaw.

"We have had pieces in the jigsaw in the past such as, in the main, having good centre-halves, we have an excellent left-back, we have good midfield players. Where we have often been short is in terms of creativity. We lost Steven Pienaar, we lost Mikel Arteta and we didn't have a forward who could score lots of goals.

"Suddenly we have a forward who can score but we are maybe still lacking a wee bit of creativity. Steven's brought us some more creativity since he's been back. Steven is undoubtedly one of the bits of business we need to do.

"I can see in my head pictures and directions of where I think we should be going and what players we need to get, which players can help us progress again. Jelavic is a massive piece.

"For a decent value, how else could you get a striker who might get you 20 goals a season in the Premier League? Normally, for that piece you are looking at £15-20m. There are bits of building blocks now. At the end of the season, I'll have a chat with Bill and see where we should go."

If (god forbid) Bainsey goes to ManUre or whatever Emilio Izaguirre is THE ideal replacement. Hope he doesn't but a more than a decent plan b..I'd take Kevin Doyle on the cheap from Wolves too- as back up to Jellyfish of course! Jobs a goodun.

All positive thoughts for the summer gone we have to sell our assests to compete ??? Why thought we were only missing pieces to the jigsaw . Won't we be missing pieces if we sell our best players ? It don't make sense we only need a few quality signings to b right in the mix for Europe !

Dempsey all the way! he would be a great signing for us and a great partnership with jelavic. Only problem i cant see rodwell being sold due to injury so the money terms would be harsh.Them two upfront with pienarr, fellani and baines providing would be the key to our champions league football!

Seems to me that Cahill and the Count are not in Moyes long term plans, as currently Cahill plays alongside Jelavic but he says the jigsaw is not yet complete ? interesting

I do think we should get back Steven Pienarr and sort out a permanent deal for him. I think really after that it would be good if we could find a decent goalscorer to go up front with Nikica Jelavic. It's worked okay with him up front on his own and has got the goals we need, but I think it's time we had 2 strikers up front instead of just one. If we got another striker who can score well up front, then potentially it could be a 30-35 goal partnership. It's been a long time since we last had that! Adam Johnson of Man City would be a good signing, if we could get him but apart from a striker to go with Jelavic upfront and signing Pienarr on a permanent deal, I just hope that any other signings we make are right for the club, but also players who can make a difference on the pitch like Jelavic and Pienarr have. David, it's over to you!

It is nice to finally hear such positive speak from Moyes. Now it is up to the board to see if they will match his ambitions. Obviously getting Pienaar would be great and maybe Matt Jarvis from Wolves? Up front I would like to see Jelle Vossen from Genk and/or Bas Dost from Heerenveen up front to help out Jelavic. Let's not forget maybe getting back Donovan and hopefully on a permanent deal - if not, how about Dempsey?

I know he is a defender, but now Wolves have gone down is Mark Ward worth a punt?

Hope the boss gets some early deals done, get some more season tickets sold and let's step up a gear, give us something to shout about in 2012/2013.

Don,t let us down again this year Bill, find the funding to sign Hoilett /DeFoe/and Sturridge, it is high time the supporters were rewarded for their patience and loyalty, i know we cant be garunteed silverware but i dont think the squad we would have would be far away and would be exciting to watch, so come on Bill dig deep.

I think were on the brink of something special if we can get 3 or 4 quality players in. But if we cannot get pienaar back in i think were fuked all together. We need proven players not young players that could be good in 3/4 years. Come on Everton lets get ahead of the red shite and give us something extra to shout about sunday . COYB

I recall back in 85/86 when we very nearly won the double howie kendall stated that he needed one more player to complete his jigsaw and that player was Paul Bracewell and I think that we are in that position now, given that peanuts is staying and nobody leaves we need one more player Jan mourthino could be that creative player that would fit the bill

What happens if Jelavic gets injured? Need cover for him (not Anichibe) and Mike I would not mind Rodallega at Everton. Thought Hoilett was going to Arsenal anyway?

I've got a clear picture in my mind of where I want us to be as well Davie. I haven't got any money either.

Surely this is the time to break the bank and find the nescessary funds to secure the players to make strides in our league . We have great spine In our team , and as moyesy said the little creative pieces of the jigsaw need to be added to help our goal machine. An injection of pace in and around Jelavic and we are looking a real threat . There are few bargains available aswell Hoilett and rodallega. Let's get it right for one summer! and who knows where we will b next season . Get em in early Coyb!

A versatille defender for back up across the whole back line. Surely we can find a decent one on a free or a cheap young player. Pienaar on top of the list as he is a hero!! Rodallega, Moses, and Hoillett are all out of contract arent they? Would love to bag any of them! (Hoillett preferably as he can play right wing too and only 21!!). Hopefully Barkley will get more games as he will grow to be a magician, creating chances for a laugh! Need to get the best out of Rodwell too (although i wouldnt mind selling him for a price above £15 million...) Also need to ensure we keep hold of our best players such as Bainsey and Felli! they are essential! If we can keep anichebe fit with a rocket up his arse i think he would be good support for Jelavic as he's built like a house!
