David Moyes has had no contact from Spurs. Who said so? David Moyes that's who. And if he did he'll tell Bill first

Moyesy said: "As far as I´m concerned, it´s all speculation. I've had no contact and if I ever did have, the first person I would tell would be my chairman, because I've got a great relationship with him.

"I'm ambitious and I want to try and win things, and I ideally want to do that with Everton. We brought in two or three players in January and you could see the difference it made to the club, to the players to myself so we want to try and do that again.

"For me, really, my concentration is getting Everton ready for the start of the season and hopefully getting off to a better one than we've had in recent years.

"I tell people straight as it is that I've had no contact and the club have had no contact and I'm the Everton manager.

"I've always been loyal and I'll continue to be loyal to Everton as long as they want me.

"I'm happy there and, as I say, I'm ambitious and the players at Everton are ambitious, and they want me to push to try and keep moving the club going forward."

Some managers just won't tell you what's going on and won't open up. But credit to David Moyes for being truthful and speaking out on tv, that he wants to stay at Everton and is ambitious like the players and wants to win things at Everton. You can't ask for more honesty and loyalty than that and I think that there is nobody better than David Moyes to take this club forward. In the the past 4 years we've been in the F.A. Cup final in 2009 and the semi-final in 2012. It surely can't be long until it's our time for glory again? But also to get back into Europe again. In David Moyes I trust and believe. He is the only manager for us and in the near future he can bring success to this club. I think all this garbage about David Moyes and Spurs needs to be brought to an end. We need to focus on signing one or two players.

Can I correct the quote in the article above ? Moyes actually said "I'm ambitious and I want to try and win things, and I DEARLY want to do that with Everton". At first hearing it did sound like "ideally" but having watched this now a few times it's plain that he says "Dearly". For me that is an entirely different statement.

First and foremost, if Moyes goes to Spurs I would find it bizarre. I understand that he wants to achieve things, but Spurs are a nothing club in comparison to Everton. Even given the current economic standpoints of the 2 clubs, it's a sidestep at best. No way a step up. Secondly, respect to Moyes for his comments on MOTD. He was honest, repectful, and as always dignified and clearly loves this club. Another factor which would suggest to me that Spurs are not enough to tempt him away. Thirdly, shame on you Lineker, Shearer and the BBC for your corrupt attempt to support the departure of Moyes. Your attempts to draw Moyesy (which he would not succumb to) and your subsequent headline and report direction is a disgrace. Finally, I would like to say that Moyes deserves a big chance, and if we cant provide that in a year or two when Fergie retires, then he will go with my respect and blessing. BK- find an investor and find some money so that this doesnt happen. But not for Spurs. No way Davey, they arnt enough for you and I think you know it.

Gary Lineker is a complete bell end. I did not like him as a player. He made us play in a shite way and none of the players at the time liked him, hence the fact he used to warm up on his own. I now despise him even more as he attempted to unsettle Moyes with his pursuit of a scoop with his questioning. Even tried to get Shearer involved. He is a tit and had a shite first touch as well. Also hated that kit we played in when he was here. He can stick his 40 goals up his arse because as far as I am concerned he never played for us.

Apart from actually owning the club Moyes has full control. At Spurs he would have to deal with that upstart Levy. Don't think SO.

Lineker I disgrace....even bringing Shearer into the mix. Here's a question when was the last time you saw Ferguson as a pundit, answer is never Chairman should stop this in the contracts its unsettling the clubs. I can understand DM seeing an opportunity to get a pay rise wouldn't it have been nice if he said if Spurs come I'm not interested. You would think 3m a year buys you this.

read through the transcripts of what DM said on TV.. hats off to the guy, my reading is that he has no respect for how Levy has treated Harry and his loyalty and focus is EFC. it would be professional suicide to sit and say he is not interested in the Spurs job as who knows what is around the corner and if we had new investors they may want to change the management..RE: Blackburn and Allardyce. so hats off to DM, not always his biggest fan with his playing style and tactics but a 100% genuine decent proper human being with complete respect and integrity for his employers and friend. hope he stays here for a long time....

I think Moyes was even about to say that he thought Arry had been treated badly, but seemed to stop himself!! Feel better after hearing him speak, apparently A V B is now fav for the job. One interesting rumour I've seen today on another football forum was a post by a north London estate agent who has had Queen Kenny as a customer over the last few days.......curiouser and curiouser!!!

Surely the key statement is I'm ambitious and the Everton players are ambitious ! How is this ambition to be achieved when the majority of fans on this site seem to accept the situation of selling our best players is the way to Run EFC? Unless there is a change in the boards strategy I think David Moyes will have to leave .

IMWT, this makes me feel a lot better, although in an ideal world i'd like to have seen him come out and say I don't want to leave.

Firstly, there is no question that David's comments on MoTD were positive and showed that "ideally" (his word) he wants to win things with us. But realistically "ideally" is the key word in that sentence. Secondly - he clearly wants investment into the squad, which is understandable. But if (rightly or wrongly) that investment can't be made available then I suspect he moves on if offered the chance to do so. As for telling Bill K first if any approach came -of course he would tell Bill first, so would I. But this may be that conversation "Bill, I've had contact from a Spurs rep, they want to talk to me....and I feel I want to talk to them too" In no way am I criticising DM, I have always been a huge Moyes fan and want him to stay. But if Spurs want him, I remain of the belief that he will take it. As it happens, there seems to be growing rumours about AVB, if so, great. In Moyes we Trust. But if he goes, we won't collapse.

Loyalty is a big word, Moyes wants to take us forward with his current crop of players. His head maybe slightly turned but his heart is with EFC. I feel there is no USA tour this summer as he wants his players to be fresh for the start of the season and kick off with a bang, as where we have fallen over the past 4/5 seasons. I think he has put the pressure on BK on their last chat and has been more demanding than ever before, lets hope he gets what he wants and make us the driving force that we are more than capable of. If I was BK I would give him everthing he requires to the best of Evertons budget to include keeping Fellani,Baines and Jags. I've supported EFC for almost 30 years and seen some highs and lows but our football in the 10 games was just mouth watering(take away the cup semi) and we are ready to challenge the big guns. Instability will set in again at Spurs and players will leave for champions league football

Hear, Hear! Well said David, let's hope that puts pay to it all and we can settle and concentrate on starting the season the way we ended the last campaign. IMWT !

Please DO NOT fall into the BULLSHIT. Despite Moyseys unequivocal statement of loyalty to EVERTON the BBC still chose to spin their reference to the MOTD discusssion. "I have tried to speak to Harry. I feel for him, I feel as though it has been tough on Harry," Moyes commented (Yeah he did "it has been tough on Harry", not really an unreserved statement of admiration for how 'Arry was treated is it ?) BUT, how did the beeb relay this ? "Moyes refuses to rule out Spurs" Hahahaha that's PATHETIC from the BBC "As long as they want me, I am happy there. I am loyal. Everton is a massive club in this country." ALL these quotes are from the same BBC article.

In Moyes we trust. Davey YOU nailed Gary Linekers questions with well reasoned answers, no flannel, no BS & no evasion. THANKS. Also telling was the issue of being in touch with Wedknap, at that point the ONLY giveaway of the exchange...... you didn't like the way he was treated by Spurs did you ? Didn't think that you would. Ten more years please.
