Moyesy Up For Ground Sharing

David Moyes believes it would make sense for Everton and the shite to share a stadium, but doubts such a scenario will ever become a reality.
Our attempts to explore building a new stadium have failed to come to fruition and there have also been plans from the to expand Analfield.

However, Moyesy would be prepared to accept the two clubs playing in the same stadium but he does not expect the shite to back such a project.

Moyesy said: 'We know we could do with some more cash and we would like a new stadium but we have an awful lot of things going for us.'

'I think Everton probably need a new stadium more than Liverpool but it is not something we have in our culture because we don't share grounds.'

'It does make sense, we could really redevelop the whole area around Stanley Park.'

'For us it is definitely worth doing.'

'We'd take it but I don't think Liverpool would probably want us or need us and from that point of view I think that is where it will end up.'

A ground share with the shite does make sense. Would you have it?

What do you think?

The ground share came up when uncle Tom and George was at the shite. Imagine if that happened the shite would have took us down with them. I dont trust anyone to do with that shower of horse dung. I'd rather share a ground with Tranmere Rovers

Elstone already said this would only happen if it was split right down the middle and that was made clear right at the start. That's OK by me but it won't happen anyway because neither club has enough money to do it on their own. It will only happen if the government supply the necessary subsidy the way they did for the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Do you think the Tories of all people would be up for it? No chance, they hate Merseyside, which is why we hate them back. Labour and the Lib dems are just as bad. Joe Anderson's a fat bag of wind, all mouth and trousers. That means both clubs are in deep shit for years to come (barring miracles) because they'll NEVER be able to compete fully while they're stuck in two old outdated stadiums.

I remember reading something a few years ago that they could use 2 pitches in one stadium by 'wheeling' them in and out somehow, under the stands. This would also allow for a concrete/paved 'open ground' for concerts etc. Anyone know if this is still viable, or done elsewhere? As to the colour of the seats etc, white will do for me, or blue, white and red striped. What does it matter? Red is just a colour. I've had a red car for the last 8 years. As to the name of the stadium, sell to the highest bidder. Both clubs need the money! I say go for it, BUT, only on a mutual basis, NOT owner and tennant.

It's about time we banged our heads together an get this done, before both clubs fall further behind. IM&KWT

The only team that this will benefit is Liverpool, they will want a 60,000 stadium and thats far to big for the Blues. Also they will sell multiple corporate boxes and we won't. We would be giving them a huge financial lift. I would sooner go bust then help them. Bitter? Too right were they are concered!

So Rob at 9, you think Everton can't compete with the shite? Great supporter you are. Call y'self an Evertonian?

Make it happen on the right terms. ie We arent LFC's paying tenant. If the ground is owned by a consortium of the council and the two clubs, and is integral to the redevelopment of the area it has legs.. The issue of naming rights, hospitality facilities, separate trophy rooms (hahaha) havent been a problem in Milan and those two really hate each other. Not like us and the Norwegians where we just know they are knobends.

Paul (#6) - Ask any 1860 Munich fan what they think of the ground-share with Bayern - they will all tell you that it is the worst thing that has ever happened to the club, playing in a less than half-full stadium every week with no atmosphere and higher costs than they had before, which have nearly bankrupted them. And as a resutl they are now effectively Bayerns's tenant. A ground-share could make sense for us but only if the details are right.

This will not happen until Yanks2 at analfield understand they can't afford to build a new ground on their own, and that redevelopment is more expensive with less return on capital invested. We might get somewhere when that penny drops, or is it 'dime'?

Simply -yes. Get over the sharing with the shite issue this is the best option to ever have a chance to compete with the 'top clubs'

Gotta do it. They do in Munich, Milan and Rome.

It's a must, I don't like the shite as much as the next person. But at the end of the day, we need the money, we need the corporate facilities and the capacity to keep up with other Prem teams. AND it'l be better for the City were we can contend with Manchester for big arena gigs and possibly the Champion's league final. We go on about how much we don't want to sell our big players to get transfer money, cos we're just going to go round in circles until we get bigger investors. Which won't happen until we get other sources of income!

I think its madness not to share if the option come our way. Moyesy is right we really would benefit with bigger gates and also split costs. I know not many would agree with me here because of the red stench hanging over the ground but sometimes you've got to go through shit to get where you need to be.

Anybody who thinks this is a bad idea is simply blind to what it could do for both clubs, it's a fantastic idea but sadly there are too many small minded people willing to say no
