Anichebe In Injury Scare
Bookmark and Share

Everton striker Victor Anichebe helped Nigeria to a 2-0 win over Madagascar.

Big Vic seemed to injury his groin late on in the match and is thought to be returning to Finch Farm for treatment, although that has not been confirmed.

Nigeria manager Samson Siasia said: "It is very sad for him, He was huge for us today. he did all the right things, played well and unfortunately, had to come off in the last three minutes with an injury. But that's football.

It's very unfortunate, but I hope he gets well soon so he can continue to feature for his club. That pitch was not very good and we are lucky our players did not get serious injuries.

Hopefully, Anichebe will be fine after getting some medical attention. Our thoughts will be with him."

In fairness Paul he could of got rid of him instead of giving him a new contract. Should of kept Vaughan and Beckford and got rid of him years ago. Not good enough and at least someone will get a look in. Personally I was getting to the point were I was giving up with David Moyes' insistence on playing him before anyone else despite never scoring!!! and I was waiting to watch our new signing sitting on the bench behind him. Vellios, Baxter both by far better but never get a look in. I'm sure Anichebe's got some pictures of Moyes cheating on his wife somewhere and is holding him to ransom!

Rob in Liverpool (Comment 2) think back to Man City last season, Vic had a great game. I'm not defending Vic as I agree that he does not do the business for us and Becks and Yak were far better options. Moyes probably perseveres with him because he cant get rid of him. Vic is frustrating as he has attributes that should make him a great player. He has strength, pace and a bit of skill - he just doesn't use any of them nearly enough. If he played every game the way he played against City last season he would be a great player, shame he doesn't.

At last some good news. At least if hes injured there's no chance of him getting a game ahead of Vellios, Gueye, Straqualursi, Saha, Baxter. I'd rather see a striker who your not sure of what they can do rather than a striker you know what he cant do SCORE! Moyes needs to seriously pay attention as he can't be watching the same Anichebe we see lads. Utter shite. I'm crap and I'd have more chance of scoring.

Never thought I'd see the day when I would worry about seeing Anichebe injured with us only having the new kid and King Louis as senior strikers. Not looking good. Hopefully Stracqualursi can prove us wrong.

I'm sure Davey M has his reasons for persisting with this donkey season after season, but after getting rid of 2 players who are a million times better than him those reasons are beyond me..

Trading Standards should be knocking on his door for a breach of trade description. Striker, my arse!!! Absolute complete waste of wages. When will Dave wake up and smell the coffee?

Well I'm glad he can do something right for Nigeria as I can't recall a game he's played when he's done 'everything right' or been 'huge' for the Blues!!
