Gibson Hoping For A Game For The Irish
Bookmark and Share

Following the 4-0 defeat by Spain last night, Ireland play Italy in a dead rubber on Monday night in Poznan, kick off 7.45pm.

Darron Gibson, who sat on his arse throughout the 90 minutes despite midfielders being substituted is now fit.

The 24 year old will be hoping Irish manager Trappitoni will see past his blind loyalty to Sunderland's Glenn Whelan, WBA's Keith Andrews and once of Derby but now unattached Paul Green.

Surley the Everton midfielder is a better option than that midfield trio.

If not, look on the bright side. Gibbo will be rested up and ready to go in pre-season when the squad report back to Finch Farm.

Trappationi is senile. Gibson should be the first name on his teamsheet when fit, considering the form he has been in since January in one of Europes top leagues

Same as Seamus Coleman not going there with them. I am pleased that our guys can have a rest between seasons, but hope it is not mentally affecting them.
