Jags & Bainesy Benched Again
Bookmark and Share

Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines once again sat out England's 1-0 victory over the Ukraine in the final Group D match last night.

Jags and Bainsey remained on the bench as Roy Hodgson stuck with the same back four. England went through to the Quarter Finals topping the group and will play Italy on Sunday. Wayne Rooney was the only change in the line-up and he scored the only goal.

Barring an injury to the first choice back four, it looks like our two Everton defenders will remain on the bench for the rest of Euro 2012.

Loss for England but hey keeps him out of the spotlight of potential bidders!

I thought they would have given Baines a go at least! with the old Everton defence Lescott, Jags and Baines I thought England would have been able to forward instead of sitting back and trying to snatch a winner! Put Carrol and Rooney up front and lets see bainsey bang in the crosses...

Good, then there's no chance of them getting any injuries whilst playing for Engulund.

As i have mentioned before while cole is fit there is no chance of Bainsey coming on at left-back, but he would be a good second half sub as a wing half , we would then have someone who could attack down the wing and supply "decent crosses as well as covering in defence and would be a surprise to the Italians. Also against Italy they would need some mobility in defence so Jags would be ideal at covering the back four because Parker is starting to look nackered
