Ross Barkley and Luke Garbutt starred for England Under-19s in their opening game of the European Championship Finals campaign but could only manage a 1-1 draw against Croatia.
Both started while fellow Blues Hallam Hope and John Lundstram were included on the bench. Ross was subbed late on.
Young Ross starred from midfield going close midway through the first half before hitting the bar with a 25 yard screamer.
Level at half-time, England went behind on 56 minutes when Domagoj Pavicic scored against the run of play. England responded well with a quick reply created by Luke Garbutt.
Ross began the move by feeding Luke on the left. The full-back's cross was only half-cleared and Chelsea forward Nathaniel Chalobah was on hand to bang the ball into the top-corner from the edge of the box.
Late chances came at both ends but England were forced to settle for a point in their opening game.
