McFadden Stracqualursi Hahnemann amongst 8 leaving Everton

Everton have released six players; James McFadden, goalkeepers, Marcus Hahnemann, Adam Davies and Connor Roberts, plus defender Aristote Nsiala and winger Femi Orenuga after their contracts expired.

Also Denis Stracqualursi and Royston Drenthe will go back to their clubs after their loan spells finish on 30th June.

McFadden played 8 times for Everton, but Hahnemann like the youngsters never got a game for the first team.

Stracqualursi made 28 appearances mainly as a sub and scored 3 times and was a favourite due to his non stop trying when he started. whereas  Drenthe played 27 times and scored on 4 goals, but was sent packing after a couple of disciplinary problems.

I'm just going to say this and fully expect to be shot down- I'm disappointed Macca has gone. After best part of three years out injured he was starting to look quite sharp. Yes he will never be the best around but I would certainly have given him another year. Much better than Gaye. Good luck son. Denis for all his effort was purely just effort. Bad player but did a job. Says evertrhing about Drenthe- these stats are exactly what you want from a winger. Problem was his attitude and off the field antics.

Just a shame the straq and royston are 2 different people. A player with Straq's attitude and Roystons ability would be something to be reckoned with!

Don't care at all about Denis. He worked hard sure but he was slow, always offside and was sluggish generally. Drenthe was the real loss here. If he got shit together, he could have been a real star... One of the more exciting Everton players I've seen in a long time!

Skill, guile, intelligence and quality are expected from players that represent our great Club. However, Everton supporters will ALWAYS appreciate players that are prepared to run themselves into the ground for the team. There were far too many players that turned up for their wages and went through the motions (Saha for example) when Straq was giving his all. Not really a point to bleat about, just a fact that honest Everton supporters recognise when the effort is put in. Eddieparkend COYB

Good luck Denis you showed some of our lazy arses what effort is. And thanks for the shin pads after the Newcastle game my son was made up. He wears them every time he plays

I don't buy this 100% effort tripe that people give Straq, plenty of other players put in 100% but don't show it in the one dimensional way Straq does. How do you imagine seeing Riquelme putting 100% effort in, because he didn't chase lost causes does that mean he didn't put 100% effort in? Players play in different ways and some have got more about them than just running. Unfortunately Straq didn't, he was dire and that's how he made up for it. Football's got to be better than blood, sweat and tears, there's go to be some level of quality, intelligence, and skill.

All the best Count! In an unrelated note, we need to give Adam Johnson a way out of City!! He's a left-footer who plays on the right, which is how Moyes likes to play it by the looks of things, and with Johnson being way down on the pecking order over there and missin out on an England call-up, he wants to leave too! So even if we can't get him on the cheap we could always get him on loan with a view to a permanent move! With him and Peanuts on the wings we'd be laughin! COYB

Sorry to see Denis go, the boy gave a 110% every shift. Every time he pulled the Royal Blue jersey on, it was done with pride. Shame about R.R no doubt the boy has talent, terrifies the opponents and has got the X-factor game changing ability, but needs to get his feet back on terra firma. Now that Hahnemann is going what's happening with Mucha? We let Ruddy go, now he's possibly the next best thing to don an England shirt Who is Balazs Megyeri???? best wait a few weeks might get him for Drachma -800,000 instead of GBPs As for Faddy, surplus to requirements sorry O got to go. Thanks to all of the guys - the could of beens , would of beens and last but not least the has beens, football it's such a fickle business

I know he wasn't the greatest footballer who ever graced Goodison, but he caused mayhem against City and Spurs. They did not know what to do with a lad who was trying to tackle them with his head. I thought when he and Cahill were playing together they were getting into the same positions and areas off the ball so he would have been a decent replacement, considering our well documented financial situ. The powers that be better have someone else lined up to take that position as Cahill has shown this season and last that its getting more and more difficult for the lad to keep centrebacks/defenders occupied as well as creating space for his colleagues. Good luck Straq you were a beacon of belief and commitment for us match goers when everything seemed to be crumbling down all around us last winter.

I liked Stracqualursi's efforts to make up for abilities he obviously didn't have. You could see why Moyes took a gamble on him. Sadly I don't think he had enough ability and long term I don't think he could have kept up that kind of effort, he always looked as if he was taking too much out of himself. Drenthe was his own worst enemy. McFadden just couldn't make the leap to the Premier League. I don't know anything about the others released. All in all I reckon Moyes judgment is sound.

THANKS DENIS, Should have given the lad another year at least, Bummed to see him leave to be honest, he would have run through a brick wall for the cause. Thought we could have kept Big Marcus too, experienced keeper who rarely made any mistakes at his other clubs. Hearing a rumour from a usually good source that Sitteh are coming in for Jack the lad????????????

Another year from the Count could have made a difference! I believe the asking price was a bit much! Royston, you messed up Royal mate! What were you thinking? Could have been something special! Hope you get your act together soon mate because the talent is there for all to see! Have to say thanks though for all he did at the club! Goals, assists! What a waist!

Shame about Straq, he turned our season around, with spirit, guts and determination. Please put Vic on the release list!

I Agree with Gaz, Straq should have been given another year in the Premier league...You cant ask for more than 100% effort from anyone in your squad let alone the team...if the rest of team had put in as much effort as him, we may well have ended up in the Champions league! Thanks Dennis...I hope your stay at Everton will help you forfill your dreams! Sharpen you up a bit in front of goal, and help you with your Career where ever you may end up!...

I thought we would have given Strac another 12 months and maybe next season give him a few more minutes on the pitch to try and prove himself. Got to say thanks to the lad for giving his all whenever he was on the pitch. Good luck Strac. As for the youngsters I'm sure the official website did a piece on Nsiala a couple of months back and it seemed he was looked on as a definite one for the future, bit surprised to see him go.

The Count will always be remembered fondly. Its a pity more players don't give that amount of effort. Best of luck in the future Denis, you deserve it!

Really sad to see Dennis go! He showed players at a time when they all needed a kick up the arse how you should fight for the shirt! Really hope this isnt a mistake and he's worth £25 mil in a couple of years. Take him over Anichebe any day.

Who would have thought in the early part of the season that so many people would be sad to see Dennis leave us?! I agree about Drenthe loads of talent but attitude didn't seem to be good enough. Let's hope we see Pienaar, Dempsey and Naismith wearing blue next season. coyb

Straq going is a shame - he got us going against City. However it leaves room to bring in Naismith hopefully.

No major surprises there. Good luck to Stracq wherever he ends up. Tried hard, but just not good enough. Drenthe- silly boy, could have been a legend. Im actually a bit surprised they havent offered Mcfadden a deal after he was given a few chances in some important games. Then again, Jack's back soon and Ross should be in the mix next season so not much space for him

Thats a few bob saved with salaries, plus Yobo will be gone soon, then we have a bit of cash to play with. You can see that slowly things are unfolding allowing us to maybe hook a few new signings, heres hoping

Got to say a big thanks to Straq, just for the effort he put in when he did play. The lad personified everything we want from any player wearing the famous Royal Blue jersey. Not the most gifted but his work rate was second to none. His reaction when he shed tears after scoring against Fulham in the FA Cup will always stay with me. Cheers son!! Eddieparkend
