Phil Jagielka was outstanding for England in the 3-1 away win in Switzerland last night and had the papers and the England manager singing his praise.
With a great performance against Switzerland regarded as one of the toughest in the group, Jags will be a certain starter even when the two big 'eds, Terry and Ferdinand are fit. Won't he?
Capello said: "I was really happy with the two centre-backs, Lescott and Jagielka. They had played together for several years at Everton and I spoke with them before the game, and the confidence and understanding between then was really high."
Jags said: I think there is not much more we can do now the World Cup has been and gone and we are in a new tournament now. We have started off really well and hopefully we can progress a little bit further in this tournament. It was always going to be a tough game, but I think especially in the first half the boys played really well, scored a goal and created quite a few others. But all in all job done."
