Everton stars Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines played big roles last night as England beat Italy 2-1 in a friendly in Switzerland.
Jags scored the equaliser with a diving header from a Lampard corner before being replaced in the second half by Lescott. Bainsey played the full game and was outstanding on the left. Jermaine Defoe scored the winner late on.
Jags was happy with the display and those of his team mates.
Jags said: 'Two goalkeepers as well. We were struggling in that department not too long ago and now we have had two good performances.'
'I thought John did especially well with a couple of shots in the second half and Jack has done well at the Olympics.'
'It's looking good. The squad does look very young, it makes me feel old, but it's really good for England.'
'When you hear that the squad is going to have a few players left out of it, to give other people a game, I was desperate to get a starting role and I got that tonight. It was nice to get 60-65 minutes under my belt, another cap and obviously my first international goal, which is a massive bonus and I'm looking forward to the internationals coming up.'
'It was a bit of a rocky start, but once we got the goal back I think we played well in the game. There were a lot of debuts tonight and a fantastic goal to win it.'
Well played lads and injury free too which is a bonus - bring on Manure!
