Cap Number 10 For Leighton Baines
Bookmark and Share

It looks like Leighton Baines is a certain starter for England in their World Cup Qualifier in Moldova on Friday night.

Cashley Cole, who has suffered with glass ankles throughout his career, pulled out of the England squad this afternoon. He had worked with physios at the club's training ground in Cobham this morning ahead of a light training session with England at 5pm.

Cole picked up the knock during Chelsea's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Europa League champions Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup in Monaco.

The 31 year-old is in line to reach 100 England caps with two more appearances but he will have to wait as Bainsey moves into double figures and picks up cap number 10.

I'm sure as usual, some idiot will play left wing and constantly ignore Baines' overlaps, then cut in and loose the ball leaving Leighton out of position, then some smug Chelsea loving pundit make an underhand remark about him.
