With Leighton Baines playing out of his skin coinciding with Cashley Cole acting like an idiot, plenty of pundits are saying play Bainesy at left back for England.
Bainesy is just getting on with playing well as he did at Wigan and Wigan skipper Gary Caldwell and ex redshite Mark Lawrensen are singing the blues.
Bainesy said: "I've been trying to keep my form up at club level between the two international breaks.
"The competition for places is just the way it is. It's something you just have to accept. You respect the players in the squad and the others players who are in your position that much that you know you may not play.
"All you can always do is do the best you can for your club and that's what I've been trying to do."
Marl Lawrensen said: "If I was Roy Hodgson, I'd have had Leighton Baines in the England team for the next two games."
Gary Caldwell said: "Without a doubt, [Baines] is the best left-back in the Premier League. He's the one player in their team you would target. When you look at their team and the left-back is their most attacking player, that shows he must be doing something right."
