I'm Ready For The English Game

So Royston Drenthe (Roy to his mates) is the man to replace Mikel Arteta. He has got pedigree so let's hope he shows us what he can do.

Roy thinks the English game suits him. So does David Moyes

Royston said:'I think that my qualities are English qualities, the way I play football.

'I have technique and I like to work hard. I think this competition is a perfect competition for me.

'The Spanish league was a good league but different. It is not so fast, it is slow.

'Here it goes fast and I think that is more my style of play.'

'It was on the last day but I am feeling really happy, all my family is happy and I think I can do a really good job at Everton.

'I think it is a good team and it is good for my future. I am glad to be here.

'It has been a really difficult month for me, training hard with Real Madrid but not playing with the team. That kind of thing is hard for a player.'

Moyes said "Royston is explosive and hopefully he'll give us a bit of that pace. It's something new for him to come to England but we will give him time. We needed to try and find something extra for us.

I like the way Stu’s thinking comment #4. Royston on the right with Seamus on the left sounds good. As for Rolls Royston, he’s that good he makes Peanuts look like Peter Crouch on the ball. And that’s on a good day!

If he's as good in real (no pun) life as he is in on Champ manager then he's bound to thrill...then again Bakayoko was class on Champ manager. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this lad. His pedigree and CV are excellent and to those bubble bursters who say "if he was any good why would Madrid let him leave," to be fair he'd have to be pretty amazing to get a game on the left at the Bernabeau ahead of Ronaldo or Ozil.

It's a good deal for us as this is the last year of his Madrid contract. If he works we offer him a contract. If not no strings.

I'm quite excited about our two new signings, obviously gutted about losing Mikky but as many have said he was never quite the same since Newcastle away 2009, which is a shame really. Maybe a fresh start will allow him to recapture that form. I would have been gutted at losing the Yak we had 2 years ago but not the one we had last season. Hopefully our left side with Baines and Drenthe can provide plenty of creativity and crosses for Stracqualursi to get on the end of.

Roy on the left and Seamus on the right? Sounds good to me.

Strange how people are disappointed that these signings are "only" loan signings. I wish Bily had been a loan signing. These guys will be playing for their futures. And if they don't perform they wil go the same way as Jo.

Welcome to our club Rolls Royston. We all know you've got mad skills on the mike as well as the pitch!

Can't be a bad player if Real were willing to part with 12m for him. Sounds like he wasn't quite up to their super high standards and he has lost his way a little. This loan signing reminds me a bit of the Pienaar deal and I hope he can have a similar impact. Hopefully there is some kind of future fee agreed if his contract is expiring, then if he does the business we can either offer him an end of contract deal or pay real some cash in January. If he can't hack the Prem or thinks he's Nigel Mansell again we can always send him back. I wish him the best of luck!
