FA Cause Fixture Changes

Now get your head around this!

Are you ready?

Premier League clubs have agreed to move all matches on the penultimate weekend of the season to the Sunday to avoid a clash with the FA Cup final on Saturday May 5.

This moves our away game at Wolves to Sunday 6th May.

Fixture congestion caused by the need for a break before Euro 2012 and the Champions League final being played on a Saturday forced the FA to move the FA Cup climax to Saturday, May 5, on a weekend where Premiership matches were also scheduled.

A fixture pile-up last season saw Premier League games played on the same day as the FA Cup Final, but the 20 club chairmen agreed at a meeting last Thursday to move the games to Sunday, May 6.

A genius at Premier League HQ said: 'We realise that it is not good for either competition to have our matches conflicting with the FA Cup!

There was no explanation as to why the FA Cup Final will kick off at 5.15pm for the first time in its history. No explanation other than money that is!

The only exceptions to this will be if an English club is involved in the Europa League final the following Wednesday and would prefer to play on the Saturday, and OF COURSE if Sky choose to show a top-flight match in the Saturday lunchtime slot - the Premier League would be contractually obliged to agree to that!

Confused you may be, surprised you will not.

The final has been moved to a 1715 ko to accomadate european viewers, which raises more revenue for the FA. They want to sell it to as many countries as possible and by moving it creates that opportunity.

They are fucking thick aren't they. They can leave the cup final at 3 and still have a midday or evening kick off live on SKY/ESPN. The FA Cup is shown free to air tele and the final isnt subject to the 'no live matches at 3pm on saturday' rule. Also if an English club do reach the uefa cup final and have to move their game back to saturday, make that game the live one so as not to move 2 fixtures. I assume that concept is to difficult for the Sky and Prem league numpties to figure out.

What an absolute bunch of $hithouses, degrading the greatest domestic cup competition in the world just for the money pit of the champions league or europa cup. It's about time the fa was run by someone with some bollock$. An absolute disgrace to even think about it not being at 3 o'clock on a saturday. What next, 3am kick off's just so some yanks dont have to get up to watch it?
