One Minute Silence To Remember Hillsborough

One minute's silence to mark the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster will be held before both FA Cup semi-finals this weekend. Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and Chelsea players will wear black armbands during the two matches.

Liverpool were given special dispensation not to play the game against us on Sunday, the anniversary of the disaster.

Both captains will present members of the Hillsborough Family Support Group with flowers prior to kick-off and also lay floral tributes to the Hillsborough victims at the side of the pitch.

David Moyes said: 'From everyone at Everton I pass on my thoughts to anyone who lost family members at Hillsborough and we will do everything we can to make sure we respect a difficult game for them.'

'It was a horrendous disaster which everyone was shocked by and I am sure everyone at Everton will pass on their sympathies and on the day will give everyone who lost family members the right dignity and pay tribute to them.'

Please observe the one minute silence.

Was at Villa Park on that fateful day. Show the respect the 96 deserve. Can't even believe it's being debated.

There is no need to worry. We know how to behave. We're the ones who will be representing the city most as there will be many more Merseyside Blues than Merseyside reds at Wembley. Never fear people for we are Blue and true.

I hate the red shite as much as the next man, but we must honour the minute silence. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW OUR CLUB AND OURSELVES UP and respect the silence. It's only one minute. We can always hate them again after it. COYB

I was training to be a nurse when Hillsborough happened and remember the after effects in both a personal and professional capacity. Lets please show the world our pride in Merseyside and mark the occasion with the respect it deserves! NSNO

Amen to that, a worldwide audience for this one so let's show some class and observe the silence properly as Blues fans always do.
