Lets hope that the previously unseen Hillsborough documents released today give the families of the 96 who died, the justice they seek.

People in Liverpool are being asked to observe a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the 96 Liverpool fans who died.

During the silence to be held at 15:06 BST the bells at Liverpool Town Hall Municipal Buildings on Dale Street and Liverpool Parish Church will ring out 96 times.

A vigil to mark the release of the papers will take place at St George's Plateau near to Liverpool Lime Street station at 18:00.

Evertonians will always remember the 96

My mate "John Dunn" is lucky to be alive. He was in the Leppins Lane end. Ribs crushed and spinal injury. Ill health and flash backs but he still says he was one of the lucky ones. There but for the grace of god fellow blues go you or i. The big knobs tossed a coin to see who played at Hillboro or Villa park. We went to Villa. It could have been Everton at Hillsboro. God bless the 96.

I have always been cynical of the 'it's never our fault' attitude that comes out of Liverpool FC, which stems back to Heysel and not that terrible day in 1989. My beliefs were that it can't just be coincidence and since thoughs terrible dark days there have been other instances of appalling behaviour from the supporters of that club (Athens and even Wembley last year against Cardiff), which cemented my viewpoint. However today on hearing the things that were done to shame the dead and cover up the truth makes me feel ashamed. My thoughts tonight are with all the families and friends of those who lost their lives at a football match and I just hope that those who have let this go on for so do long feel the shame they should do. RIP the 96

Agree completely with comments before me 1-3, Justice for the 96. How Kelvin McKnobhead is still workin in the media is beyond me, he should be made accountable for the outright lies he attempted to pass off as 'the truth'. Never buy 'the sun'. IMWT, COYB.

I went to Hillsborough with Everton, the next season. I have worked in Sheffield and London in the intervening 23 years, and now live in Bury. Today, they've confirmed what was known by the majority all along. All fans in the country, including those in Sheffield, Manchester and London, should now accept that Liverpool fans had no part in what happened, and that the whole tragedy should never have happened.

In the media the two worst offenders were the Murdoch editors Kelvin McKenzie and Andrew Neil at The Sun and Sunday Times. They must be held to account.

Lets hope that blues and reds can put aside the triabalisim and remember that we are one city one people ,that we both support two great clubs who play the greatest GAME on earth and some of the bile witnessed in recent derby games can be banished to the gutter it belongs in. Remember Everton is another word for dignity. God Bless the 96

99% of my true mates are Liverpool supporters and were there that dreadful afternoon when 96 innocent individuals never came home.I was living overseas at the time the horrific news was coming out of Sheffield and i immediately phoned all family members to check on their safety and well being, thank goodness everyone who i knew was alive and accounted for.To this day they still suffer flash backs and the images will be forever etched in their minds.Tragically 96 football supporters do not share that experience of reminiscing the disaster that was breaking out around them, and counting themselves fortunate to leave as they entered, they are the victims along with their parents, brothers, sisters and any decent human being who have been treated like a discarded ticket stub by the Conservative government,Yorkshire Police and a certain excuse for a newspaper that shook hands with the Devil.Today is time for authenticity and i have nothing but immense respect for the loved ones who have tirelessly campaigned for answers to their heartfelt questions whilst expressing dignity, decency and an unwavering vision of putting right what has been avoided these past 23 years 4 months and 12 days that is TRUTH and JUSTICE.

Never, ever forget the 96. Never, ever forget the families. Never, ever forget the injustice and lies spread by the media and right wing politicians.

Lets hope the correct decision is made and the real evidence of what happened on that very sad day is made public and the correct people are made to stand up and answer why family, friends and the public have had to wait all theses years for justice to be carried out. We all go the game to watch our beloved teams, have plenty of banter, a pint after the game then go home to our loved ones. No supporters and their families should have to go through what has happened since that fateful day. The 96 will never be forgotten.
