Barkley Back In The Frame For Everton
Bookmark and Share

Ross Barkley took a step back to full fitness when he played in the 5-4 defeat by Blackburn for Everton U18's on Saturday. The midfielder was involved from the off and laid on two of the goals as well as heading over the bar. Hopefully it wont be long before he is back in the Everton senior squad.

Everton youth scored through Hallam Hope and Anton Forrester who both scored 2 each.

Coach Kevin Sheedy said: "We played some excellent football in the first half. Our four goals were of real quality.

"We wanted more of the same in the second half but we stopped doing the things we'd been doing well. We stopped passing it and our season has been littered with individual mistakes.

"We're being punished, if you can't keep a clean sheet you won't win football matches. There's lots to work on."

The sooner he's back and match fit the better. We need someone in midfield with a bit of ambition. At the moment they all seem intent on passing it sideways for someone else to take responsibility.
