Standing Ovation For Denis

Denis Stracqualursi was a shock starter for Everton last night against Fulham. David Moyes was fully justified with his decision as Denis put in a great performance capping it off with a fine headed goal.

He worked his plums off and got his reward with a standing ovation from the crowd as he came off with five minutes from the end

Steve Round said: "Denis worked really hard. He came over from Argentina on deadline day. We've seen in training that he's a really good finisher. He's got a tremendous work ethic. He's taken a while to come to the fore and settle down.

"Just recently he's just started to get to grips with it and time will tell if he can be a top forward for Everton. The lads love him, he never moans or complains. He's first into training and that's paying off."

All the South American players who come over to the premiership take a least 6 months to adept to life over here. Give him until the end of the season and I think we will see a real player. Strong, quick in patches and 100% effort. Worth a punt in my eyes.

Well done Straqc's you deserve it! Good to see the guy get his reward for playing hard and working hard, I hope he's got himself a bit of confidence so he can put some more away even so it's good to see him get a goal to spur him on!

Every time I have seen Denis he has given us an aerial presence up front, winning headers and getting flick ons that allow us to gain possession deeper in the opposition half. If he can start to add goals to his game too I would put him in the team on a more regular basis. At the moment neither Saha or Cahill seem to be giving us presence or goals. I would try and see if we can get a two man strike partnership going out of Straq, Vic and Tolos and give Louis a bit of a rest!

If we can get him for £1.5m to £2m I would get him straight away. If nothing else he has the passion and work ethic we require, not seen enough for much more money but hopefully a run in the team. Now he can get more goals and performance's like last night. Good lad STRAC. Keep it up.

Dennis is one of them players you can't fail to like, 100 percent every game, never stops working unlike a certain other striker. We as fans, want to see a better quality of forward ,but we all love players who fight for our club and he is one, that's why we all love Dennis

I was just thinking they have a cheating, but 'not a racist'. But a quality player from South America. We end up with a dray horse from the same continent. Then he scores with a header that Sharpie would have loved. Good lad Denis - you're getting better everytime I see you!

We should sign this guy up. In his few brief appearances he's shown more desire and heart than Saha. Do the right tning Blues and sign him up.

We should give Straq a run with Vellios upfront. They would cause havoc and with good service from the flanks, the pair are full of goals! Give him a contract and play him regularly!

He might not be the best player but love he work ethic and don't think there is a single blue fan who didn't fall in love with the guy when he cried. Shows what it means to wear the royal blue
