No Crowing From Landon

There was no crowing from Landon Donovan after he led us to victory over Clint Dempsey's Fulham in England's FA Cup.

The USA teammates will be on the same side again soon enough.

Landon set up both goals in Friday night's 2-1 FA Cup 4th Round win so both he and his USA teammate Tim Howard were delighted.

Dangerman Dempsey scored 15 goals for Fulham since August, including a hat trick earlier this month in a 5-2 win over Newcastle but we were able to stifle him

Landon said: 'It was a little bit of an American invasion. It was nice to see Clint. In my opinion, he's been one of the players of the season in the Premier League and obviously Timmy here is nice to have.'

'Realistically, unless we go on some kind of amazing run, it's going to be difficult for us to finish in the top six and qualify for Europe so this is our last chance to win something. It means a lot to the guys.'

Well played Landon, keep it up against Sitteh tomorrow.

Rick I couldn't agree with you more! Landon Hope & Glory is the type of player that makes the difference! But people in the wrong places have got their eyes soley on the money and forget what the game is really all about!

Although most of us would like to see Landon here full time, I think it is a bit more complicated than that. I'm sure any transfers go through the actual MLS rather than the club and he just so happens to be their All American boy, their highest profile home grown player. As much as we want him, I don't think it is possible. Let's hope he keeps playing well until his loan expires, give us all something to shout about. But the fella from Rangers is a quality player. He may not have a great deal of pace but he knows where the net is. Get behind him and see what he can do in an Everton shirt before passing judgement.

Does anyone else agree with this: Instead of spending 5/6/7m on a striker from Rangers or anyone else, why not offer LA Galaxy that for Landon and give him a go as a striker as well as giving our younger lads more of a go over the last part of the season? Maybe put in a deal with LA so that we buy Landon for like 5m or whatever (maybe a few mill more) and we can offer him a 4 year deal but then after 3 years he has a decision along with LA to go back there for half price or something when he is 34/35 and can see his career out there if he wants to? He is fit enough and good enough to keep playing over there into his mid-late 30s like Beckham is doing so in my opinion I think it would be a good deal for both clubs!
