David Moyes has insisted there is no chance of retaining the services of LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan, after his loan spell finishes this month.
Moyesy has seen us from the arrival of the Californian who assisted both goals in Friday night's FA Cup victory over The Cottagers and again last night against Sitteh.
But, despite being admired by players, management and fans, Donovan's future lies back in the USA, Moyes confirmed.
Moyesy said: 'Landon has started really well, I thought he was our best player in a couple of his first games. I actually didn't think he played too well in midweek, he made the two goals but his all around play could have been better.'
'But he's done so well for us, he's been great to come in and hit the ground running which is what we needed. You wouldn't know he was someone here on just a short loan.'
'Keeping is completely out of the question, he's going back to the Galaxy and we'll always be thankful for the time that we've had with him.'
Everton tried to lure Landon away from the Galaxy after his first spell at Goodison in 2010 but were priced out of a deal.
It now looks as if we will have to wait even longer.
