Blue Bill Back On Coronation Street

Blue Bill has been invited back on Corrie!

He will reprise his Coronation Street role as Gordon Clegg for Betty Turpin's funeral. Betty's son Gordon will return to screens in April, joining Weatherfield's residents as they gather to pay their last respects to his TV mother.

ITV correspondent Sharon Marshall announced yesterday that Blue Bill is back on the street. He first appeared on Coronation Street in 1968 and went on to have a number of stints on the show.

Shazza said: 'We've got a little announcement to make about Betty and the funeral plans. Betty's funeral will be screened in April.'

'There's been so many rumours in the press, but there's only one person who they've actually asked to come back - and that's Bill Kenwright, who played her on-screen son.'

Blue Bill was last seen as Gordon in 1995, but actor Geoffrey Leesley covered for Bill and has since played the role in 2002 and 2004.

Betty Driver, who portrayed Betty Turpin for 42 years, passed away in October last year aged 91.
Street bosses have promised that Betty's exit storyline will also see the revelation of a secret that the Rovers barmaid kept for many years.

Well, anything to keep the funds rolling in eh Bill?!

Why give these blue union (the whole 200 of them) the time of day? We all know we need investment but if no one is willing to invest what can we do. Welcome back Peanuts.

I think its been a great week for the blues both on and off the pitch, here's to a good cup run. Everyone keeps crying out for a big money investor, but what good will it do when FIFAs new ruling comes into place. The new buyers wouldn't be able to spend millions anyway and no-one's going to come in and spend £100 million on a ground. Get behind the team (just like Tuesday night) and we'll do far better.

I will NEVER support anyone who says they aren't attacking personalities and then does just that with their minority signs, placards and songs and yapping through a fence like a pack of hyenas, never mind the clowns and cakes crap. The fact is these people say one thing and do another. They are hypocrites who like only the sound of their own voices. No time for them at all and neither have the great majority of Evertonians. We've got troubles enough without the bu clowns adding to them.

Typical Blue Onion boys... totally missing the point! Richie was saying "credit where credit is due, Bill missed the game" - Bill 'missed' the game lads... MISSED IT! He's not saying that Bill crawled down the M6 on all fours!! As for the Arteta money, that has already been clearly explained - poor performances have meant a drop in attendances and Sky coverage, therefore projected figures for the 2011/12 season were/are down, and needed rectifying. Using the Arteta money was the correct thing to do. Obviously non of you own or run a business, otherwise you'd have no problems understanding the absolute basics of economics! Quit your ranting and raving... you're embarrassing yourselves!

The problem with the Blue Union is they seem to think that if you're not on one of their 'marches' then it means you want Kenwright to stay, even to the point where they are writing on forums 'if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem' They need to realise you can want a change in the board without going about it their way. Taping and releasing that interview with kenwright shot themselves in the foot in terms of being taken as a serious group. Most, if not all, of their actions just cause negativity around the club. Not to mention they haven't got a solution, if they had a buyer lined up it would be fair enough, but the bunch of neandathols havent thought that far ahead. I'd love to see what happened if they got kenwright out and got told right youve got a few days to replace him, theyd be fucked. They want to get 'a professional seller' in to sell the club, somebody like that would only sell us down the river to get the best deal for him, not the club, then we end up with Venkys, Hicks and Gillet or the Portsmouth owners, no thanks. Yes I want Bill to sell, but only for the right deal that ensures we dont get some cowboy who wants to bleed us dry.

Some good coments on here from both sides. Bill kenwright may live in london but very rarely misses a game, especially a big game like City. The Uniion are going on about investment, we would all like a rich bloke to come in and buy the club, but if no-one wants to buy it, it is not really anyones fault. New owners know we need vast ammounts of money pumped into the club for players and a new stadium, are we really that big a club world wide to get interest of that kind?

So Paul, (7), what is the answer ? You critisize the current state, fair enough but we have no money. Shout as loud as you like but until we get a wealthy backer, you and the 'union' are a waste of time. Blue Bill bleeds more blue than you for sure.

Well said Richie, The Mothers Union seem to rather quiet around the transfer window (I thought it was one of them chained to the post last night) I'd of released him with an Axe. Tim is one of the last Corinthians . COYB !

The guy's had a lot of stick. I for one also believe we need investment. However the behaviour of the goon union is nothing more than kopiteness. Credit where its due, Blue Bill missed the game last night to go to london and push the Pienaar deal through. Elstone oversaw the Jelly deal (see what I did there) and Moysie saw us over the line against City.... from top to bottom, well done. COYB!
