Pienaar Signing Is Icing On The Cake

Following the great 1-0 win over Man Sitteh and the seeing new centre forward, Nikica Jelovic at half time, Evertonians went home happy as an Evertonian with 3 points and a new signing in their pocket.

But that wasn't the end of it. Former midfield favourite Steven Pienaar signed on loan until the end of the season with Louis Saha moving in the opposite direction to Spurs.

It was only minutes before the transfer deadline slammed shut that the paperwork was done and dusted.

Peanuts tweeted:  "Happy days, looks like we beat the clock."

Earlier Moyesy had been in touch with 'appy 'arry.

Redknapp said: ''Pienaar wants to go. I'm trying to hide from him. I spoke to (Everton boss) David Moyes at quarter to seven. I said if I could get the player I wanted he could have Steven on loan.''

That move didn't happen so it was thought that was the end of it. Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and his Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy continued dialogue after their persepctive games were over and the move was done.

Welcome back Peanuts. Both the fans and Leighton Baines will be chuffed. Looking forward to 'seeing you running down the wing, watch your dreadlocks swing'.

Steven will wear the number 22 Everton shirt.

He is not match fit ATM, barely played for Spuds (2 games as sub in the league!). I hope he will not prove that: You could not step twice into the same river (...). [Heraclitus of Ephesus]

At least Arteta took a paycut to play Champions League footie and gave us 10 mil in the process. Welcome back? My arse.

Owe happy days, can't wait to see him play with us again. Read somewhere though that he is still injured, hope that is not true.

Tell you what, Redknapp is great for us. Every deadline day he gets his cart outside Goodison and shouts "bring out yer dead".

Glad to see nuts back. We all knew Landon was not going to stay but lets support the lads that are staying with us! Timmy Cahill is a true legend himself and capatin Phil play a massive part in helping new players settle in at r club . I can see a good run on its way with goals from the Count, Cahill and Jelly bagging a few. Looking forward to rest of season.COYB

Having him back for 6 months is good, but if he hits good form when playing for us, will we be able to do a permanent deal or will he end up back at Tottenham again? Suppose only time will tell.

I didnt want him back after he left thinking he was better than us but i have to be honest and say i was excited when i heard the news and the way he plays it wont take long for him to win me back over. The best news of the day though was Saha leaving.Strange how quick things can change, alls there been is doom and gloom for a very long time but last nights result and signings mean am up beat about the rest of the season.Hopefully am not the only one and the attendances pick up.

Well lets hope he hasnt lost his touch seeing that he has hardly kicked a ball for Spurs in 12 months... I still think we should have paid him what he wanted the first time he talked about not signing a new contract...Anyway Peanuts Welcome Back! Anyone know what the Deal was involving Saha? Money Loan deposit on the £5 million Harry wants for Peanuts What?

Not really sure what to think of this. I have no doubt that he is a good player but at the end of the day he shit on us. He kept us hanging on. Moyes brought him here on a gamble. He waited until he got the most wages. I was not impressed when he did go. He wasnt good enough to get into Spurs team. Personally was glad to see him on the bench. Now he wants back to us. He thought the grass was greener on the other side. Sounds stupid i know but maybe an apology from him. I hope he gets back the form he was with us. Dont know if any of this makes any sense to whoever reads this. Sorry if it doesnt.

Any news on Drenthe contract? Hoping to see a midfield of Felli & Rodders/Gibbo holding, with Peanuts, Drenthe & Landon attacking behind Jelly before Landon goes!!! AND we'd still have Coleman, Denis & Timmy C on to come on!!!

Haven't looked forward to a game as much as I do for the Wigan game, great signings and a bit of gloom lifted from the place. Well done Bill getting peanuts back let's hope he has the same attitude he had when he was last playing for us. Gibson for me will be the most important signing for me as I think when everyone fit he will link it all up as Fellini back in holding roll and Ossie and Gibson linking up feeding the wingers, either Drenthe, peanuts and Coleman, not forgetting Donovan for the time being. Bainsey back to his most dangerous. Hopefully jelly man to put the ball away. COYB

So to all Blues who de-ride Blue Bill, he missed the best game we have done for years, working on OUR behalf to get US back one top player (within our resources). Anyone who slags him off now has a cold heart. Welcome back Steven, Bainsey is waiting for you.

I am over the moon that Peanuts is back. I hope the magic he created with Bainsey is rekindled as our left side was fantastic. But what about Drenthe? will he drop down to the subs bench or switch to the right when Landon goes?

Just proves the theory that the grass isn't always greener away from Goodison.
