Luke Garbutt is back at Finch Farm for a couple of days and while there he hopes to get Everton to agree to extend his loan spell with table topping Cheltenham Town.
He has impressed at left-back for the Robins since joining on loan in October and while the current temporary deal expires on February 14, Luke hopes it can be extended.
Luke scored the first senior goal of his career in the 3-1 win at Macclesfield that took the Robins to the top of League Two last Saturday and said that he would be keen to stay for the Robins' promotion push.
Luke said: 'I've had various conversations with Everton in the past week and I'm going back up there this week for a couple of days training, so I will touch base with them then.'
'They'll tell me what I'm doing well and what I need to be working on, but the feedback I've had has all been positive so far. It's great to know that your parent club are taking an interest in what you're doing and how I am developing and not just forgetting about me.'
'Both clubs are talking all the time and for my development it's certainly going to do me no harm staying until the end of the season and I definitely want to stay.'
'There aren't many chances to win promotion during your career, so for me to start out with one here at Cheltenham in my first proper year as a professional would be great. To get a promotion and hopefully a trophy and a medal under my belt in that first year would be brilliant.'
He went on to talk about his first ever senior goal.
Luke said: 'I am certainly going to claim the goal, it was on target before the deflection so I am definitely claiming it.'
'I don't know if I will be having a competition with Sido just yet. I just want to concentrate on performing well for the team and if I can get goals and assists doing that then great.'
'I was more pleased with the performance, both team-wise and personally and I am really happy to have played a part in getting three points that sends us top of the league.'
