SA Boss Delighted At Peanuts Return

South Africa national team boss Pitso Mosimane is delighted that Steven Pienaar has secured a return to Everton.

Peanuts had been getting splinters in his arse on the Spurs bench this season following the arrival of Scott Parker, this after initially impressing in his first season at the club.

A proposed loan move to Queens Park Rangers fell apart on transfer deadline day before Pienaar managed to secure a similar deal back to Goodison and his national boss is pleased.

Piso said: 'It is a good and wise move for his career. The Everton coach loves him and the fans in Liverpool adore him.

'Don't forget it is at Everton where 'Schillo' played the best soccer of his career and I have no doubt this move is what we all wanted.'

'His injuries were not only a blow to Spurs but to the whole Bafana Bafana campaign because whenever he dons the national team jersey, he is one player who gives his all. He is a true leader.'

Welcome back Peanuts, everyone is delighted!

John,Paul, while I understand what your reservations about loyalty are, He is on loan. We need a creative midfielder ,he fitted, and still does fit the bill. Compared with this time last month things are looking possitively rosie, So lets do what True Blues get behind anybody who pulls on the kit. And remember Peanut has a point to prove to Spurs. COYB

I for one am pleased to see him back here. Yes he left and the only sour point is this happens a lot in football. He could have signed a small extension instead of letting his contract run down. Then the club he loves, Everton, could have demanded a larger fee for him, thus repaying us for plucking him from a torrid time he had in Germany. I never understand why a club like ours allows players to get so short on contract and go for a fraction of their worth. One thing I can say is that rarely does someone leave this club and do better (Rooney and possibly Lescott apart). I just hope we learn from the past and keep our players on slightly longer contracts to keep players worth high and enable us to sell if we need to. Good luck Peanuts and hope he can help us move up the table.

He will bring the tempo up going forward and ping the ball about the pitch a lot better than most have this season. Positive could bring the best out of a lot of them, and all they need is a lift as we saw on Tuesday.

Out of the dark trying times this season, and there's some rays of hope for everyone associated with the club. Let's be thankful for this weeks signings, a true grit win over the money bags of Sitteh, and welcome to Jelly, and great to have Peanuts back; Bainsey will be happy and so should we all. IMWT and roll on the rest of the season, COYBS!!

Paul Ward - whatever your smoking.drinking can I have some? If you see any bad in bringing back Peanuts then you need to stop taking whatever it is your using. It's a great signing and will give us some much needed guile to our forward play.

As Evertonians we are loyal to our team through thick and thin. (Most) Players are not Evertonians, they are professionals who play where the best money/career prospects can be found. We couldn't offer the wages or the European football and his contract was running out so he left. It was a shame we couldn't get more money for him but that was not his problem, it was ours. I for one am thrilled to have Peanuts back and I hope he can recapture his form and help us secure European football next year!

No one was more disappointed than me when Peanuts left, but I think we need to start getting some facts right. Pienaar never asked or forced a transfer. Yes his contract was running down and at 28 years of age, it was his final chance to play CL football (albeit 2 games). He never disrespected the club one and always gave evverything. To the 'highest bidder quote' I would like to remind you that he signed a contract for less money than what Everton offered to him, so if he was all about the money he would have stayed. Also, he has just proven its about football by coming back to where he says he loves to play what he loves. Everybody deserves a second chance, particularly when they haven't really done anything wrong.

Actually Chris (Comment 7) Schillo is a childhood nickname given to him by friends after the exploits of Totò Schillaci during the 1990 World Cup. I was mearly being humerous as you probably already know!

Well I heard he moved for the money and that is his right. At the moment he is getting the money and playing for Everton so let's all be happy I am so glad he is strong enough to face the idiots who take it persona.l It is his life ( it is not a rehearsal) and if he is back I for one am delighted. Welcome Steven, player of the year when he left.

@ Ben from Merseyside, no it is not African for Peanuts. It's a nickname he had from when he played here (yes I'm living in South Africa). Oh and there is no language "African".

I understand that we're passionate as fans and we want our players to be loyal, but you can't begrudge Pienaar for leaving for a more aspirational club... he was trying to better himself, and win things and try and make the most of the 4/5 years he has left in the game. Relate it your job, or life, and you always want to be as successful as possible. He was 28 when he moved and he probably thought this is the ideal time for his last big move. If he didn't try it i'm sure he would have suffered for morale always wondering if he could have gone on further. Some people are just so blinkard it's ridiculous. He played with passion for us for 3 years, and hopefully he'll produce the same form again. Welcome back StevieP!

Pienaar does not deserve to return to Everton. He attempted to hold the club to ransom then like most of these greedy imports went to the highest bidder which was Spurs. Now he wants to play for the club he turned his back on because he is not good enough to be selected to play for Spurs.

I presume "Schillo" is African for Peanuts?!

I like Steven Pienaaar but I don't think we should take back anyone who wanted to leave the club, for whatever reason. Love is never lovelier the second time around and I doubt if he will produce his best as he did before. It already showed in the last half season he played for us, no goals and build up which was too slow. What we need is a real maestro to feed the strikers(plural). I hope I can eat my words over Pienaar and please play our goal scoring midfielder in the midfield.
