Mixed Feelings But Glad To Be Back

Steven Pienaar has admitted that his time at Tottenham was killing his spirit.

Peanuts struggled to make an impact during his time at White Hart Lane and is now back home on loan for the rest of the season. He left in last January's transfer window, but injuries and the form of other Tottenham midfielder's limited Pienaar on the bench with splinters in his arse making just five league starts.

Peanuts tweeted: 'Mixed emotions 2 leave Spurs on loan 2 Everton.'

'Manager needs to make his choices, I understand, but I love playing & just can't sit so much on the bench. It was killing my spirit.

'Very thankful that Spurs management allowed me to go on loan and I'm very happy it could be to Everton, a club close to my heart.'

Welcome back Peanuts!

The thing is if he does well do we get him back for the £2 million or not, because as I understood even though Saha was still under contract he went on a free transfare, with a clause in the Peanuts agreement that we get him back for the £2million we got paid for him...(If Saha went to Spurs on a free)... Welcome back Peanuts, all is forgiven, the way you and Baines played today you`d think you had never been away.. Water under the bridge mate!

Spoke to Peanuts at Liverpool airport some time ago and told him to trust Moyes, couldn't understand him leaving to go to Spurs to sit on bench. Maybe he will relise that there was a place for him at Everton especially now that Arteta has left.

Pienaar was asking for 5k a week less than Arteta, the one who had not played for nearly 12 months, then a handful of games, so we gave him a rise from 50k to 75k a week..so I think Pienaar was right to ask for that as he was our most creative and joint best player for the previous 12 months...and Big Dunc was under contract Orrie and went and spoke to Newcastle and signed that day, his dads words not mine.....if he wanted to stay he should have just said NO...I'm under contract and going nowhere...

Great to see him back and it will give the team a much better balance. It will also give Royston a lesson in consistency I hope.

Drew - Childwall: I could not have put it any better myself mate. At the end of the day whether he went to Spurs for money or not, he was getting the opportunity to play CL football. He's not realised that playing football consistantly is better than playing a little in the CL. Whether he's come back with his tail between his legs or not, if he links up with Baines as well as he did before, it won't be too long before were singing his praises and praying for Moyes to sign the lad up.

For everyone saying we should of never let him go if im not mistaken we tried everything in our power to get him to sign that contract and he missed the derby saying his head wasnt with it HE WANTED TO GO! but he's back now score a goal and send a cross in to timmy and all is okay COYB FUCK THE BLUE UNION IN MOYES WE TRUST

Hang On a Sec... How did Big Dunc sell us out to Newcastle? He was devastated when he was sold by Peter Johnson. Dunc didn't wanna go anywhere. And as he said when he signed, "Everton's in my blood, and it will always be there." Welcome back Stevie P, gave his all every game, even while being linked with other clubs. That's why all true blues will welcome him back.

Great to have Peanuts back; life is a tough old journey and we all live and learn. SP has learnt his lesson and it's a reality check. Let's hope the team now starts a transition and we can claw back up the league , put the RS in check and with some luck who knows it could be a year of the underdog in the FAC.

Welcome back Steven. It will be good to get Bainesy back to his best too with you two on the left, which I reckon will get Cahill scoring more too....as little Alan Ball said...“Once Everton has touched you nothing will be the same”...COYB

At least Peanuts is honest enough to stand up and admit he made a mistake. People make mistakes, that's life! He should have stayed. He was a good player 12 months ago, and he will be good again for us, linking up with Baines down the left. Perhaps Moyes should make him sweat on a contract at the end of the season.

I was beginning to feel pretty negative about the way things were going at Everton, but I'm convinced we have turned a corner. All four signings have/will add something to the team and we have players like the Count and Jonny H showing what they are capable of. Looking at our squad now I think we can push for Europe and the FA Cup. My only slight concern is that four of the best are only on loan, but a good finish might convince them Everton is the place to be!

Welcome back Peanuts. Let's get real about one thing, players come and go in football nowadays. I was laughing to myself in my very cold Gladwys street seat every time Lescott got booed by the crowd. Why did he get booed? Because he left our club to go and treble his wages at City? Lescott was an Everton player yes, but not an Everton fan. He was an employee. You would all do the exactly the same in your job if you were offered treble your wages to go to a rival business/company etc. Had Lescott declared he was a boyhood blue, had Lescott come through the academy or confessed his love for the club. kissing the badge etc or worn a "Once a Blue..." T-shirt you might understand. But he never. Neither did Peanuts. Pienaar said all along he wanted to go To Spurs to play CL football and who blames him? He did just that. Did he get a better wage deal? Probably. It didn't work out for him and now he is back so let's welcome the lad back with open arms and hope he does great like last time. P.S why are there Tottenham fans posting comments on Bluekipper? P.P.S Joe, London - what a twat!

one of the most creative players we have had over the last 10 years, made up he has come here on loan. Also lets be realistic Spurs are pretty decent right now, according to Tampax(saha) there the most exciting team, ppffftt.

Joe, the apostrophe should actually come after the 's' in midfielders, as they belong to Tottenham, and there is more than one of them. Go do some homework!

We should never have let him go in the first place, for the sake of a few more grand a week, Bainsey and him had been our best players for 12 months and link up great together. All this crap, he is coming back with his tail between his legs, did you say the same when Duncan done it, after selling us out for a no mark club like Newcastle....no I don't think so....

Disappointed with this signing. 12 months ago he didn't want to play for Everton, now he is using the club to get a game. Am sure if he plays a bit he might manage to sort a move to QPR and a 90k contract.

Just got to say that it wasn't Spurs killing Peanuts spirit. If it was anything it was his love for the mighty Rand that did that.

Are we all just taking the moral high ground and welcome him back now he's come back with his tail between his legs? Or are we still abit umpty about him leaving the way he did? I have a few reservations, a) the circumstances in which he left and b) if he's not good enough for Spurs he's definitely not good enough for the mighty blues. But by god I'll well welcome him back with open arms if it was the only way to offload Saha!

Just hope you get the opportunity to sign permanently next season. Hope you realise now that there aint no better place to be than at Everton. You been given another chance to wear the blue again. Players have left before and not matched the potential they showed with us. Come on Stevie P get us up that table again and repay the fans and Everton staff that love you so much. COYB...IMWT...FTRS

The plural of midfielder is midfielders, not midfielder's.

You can't possibly be upset that after missing 3/4 of the games due to injury, that you are not selected ahead of Modric, Parker, Lennon or Bale? You are looked at as a squad player for Spurs, and that's what they bought you to be. Hope you have success and maybe you'll improve enough to break thru at a lesser club like Arsenal

I am very happy to see him back :) he was magical down the left with Baines. I know he was a bit silly leaving to Join Spurs...As if he was gonna take Bales place, but we all make mistakes and if he plays well he will win my forgivness :) 3 goals at Analfeild will be a good gift to us blue :)
