Moyesy Gives Us A Lift
Bookmark and Share

After a hectic week for all Evertonians it is back done to business for Everton with a visit to Wigan, but it has given time for David Moyes time to reflect on what was going on at the club he manages.

He wasn't happy and he needed a lift and he needed to give the fans a lift. It looks like he has delivered.

David Moyes said: "I felt I needed it because I was letting too many people down with the performances.

"I was feeling pretty limited with who I could play, with the changes in the team I could make.

"In truth, I was disappointing the supporters with how we were playing and the teams we were putting out. I think we have just about tried everything.

"But I didn't question how long I could go on for. That didn't come into it. I just knew I had to find the formula.

"A manager at any club has to find the formula to win games. I felt I hadn't won enough and couldn't find the formula.

"But I feel more confident now. It's up to me to lift the gloom by getting performances, and the other night  was the best I've felt for a long time at Everton.

"The Fulham result gave me a great lift. And then to get another good result against Man City made it a great week."

"I am looking at it now and thinking 'come on, let's go again'. It can give us a bit of a kickstart again."

That's more like it Moysey. Positive. There is one thing you should never do and thats say that Everton will not go into a match without a chance of winning it, no matter what the opposition. That is a mortal sin round here that will lose a lot of the fans no matter how we are playing or where we are in the league. Its a game between two sets of eleven. It doesn't matter who is put in the blue shirt to play out there they should only be thinking about winning and its your job to instill that into them.

Strenghth and Honour off and on the pitch. This squad can with luck bring some pride back to the club and all supporters. Better times ahead. IMWT!

I really hope he means it about letting everyone down with the results and performances.I guess we'll find out today if he shits it and sticks with his negative ways or plays with two out and out forwards,if he doesnt do it against the bottom club then he never will.

Hopefully we have turned the corner and can get on the usual post Christmas run. It must be frustrating for Moyes at times, but looking at the squad he now has there is that extra bit of creativity with Drenthe, Donovan and Pienaar. Just got to find a way to keep a couple of them next season.

well done Davey Moyes, its been a hard period without getting the points we sometimes deserved eg Villa away and then playing poorly against Bolton, but Tuesday was great. Hopefully we'll now have a bit more cutting edge with Peanuts back and Jelly. Keep faith with Count Straqula though, he could be a real find.
