Peanuts Looked Like He's Never Been Away

David Moyes thought Steven Pienaar was the Man of the Match against Wigan. Kipper thought that Bainsey edged him out. But we all agree that we are happy to see him back in an Everton shirt. We missed his class and guile. Welcome home Peanuts.

Was Peanuts the best player on the pitch?

David Moyes said: "I thought Steven Pienaar was the best player on the pitch today. Everything he did was really good, he was terrific and he looked as if he hadn't been away. We just didn't have the bits to create off some of his good play. But all in all, it was a really good debut for him."

When he returned I was happy along with the other signings I didn't expect in the window, but looking at the table I think the highest we can now reach is 8th. So no Europe qualification from the league but we're not going down. Wouldn't it be better for Moyes to give as much experience to youth as possible rather than short-term loaners? That will benefit us more in the long term rather than give us a bit of a lift for the second half of a lost season, bar the cup.

Stevie P was MOM for me. I'm trying not to become too attached this time, but the massive girl in me can't stop planning our wedding...

I know it sounds lame but I can't get too attached to the idea of Pienaar at Everton! He's not for keeps and it will only bog me down like it did last time when he fucks off back to Spurs or even worse; SparkyLand! These past couple of months I haven’t even been able to so much as look at a peanut without getting all misty eyed and nostalgic! I can forgive a lot of things with Moyesie (like his 4-4-2 phobia) but letting P go was the Mother of all Clangers! Especially when the stumbling block wasn’t about whether he wanted to stay or not but about something we could have agreed on! Don’t forget that at the time Moyes must have known that a shit load of players were about to leave the club! Question is; would you hold it against DM if he paid more for him than what he sold him for?

Good to see someone on the field creating stuff and getting the ball forward. Shame the rest never did the same. Too many sideway/backward passes slow the game down and there was no urgency to get the ball forward to the front men. Moyes tactics once again effected any chance of getting anything from the game. 4-5-1 against a team bottom of the league and bringing a defensive minded player on (Neville) instead of an attacking one scuppered our chance to get 3 points imho.

I don't agree with David Moyes' Tactics but do agree that Pienaar was MOM. I was really hoping that he would go with two up front. I couldn't understand why he took Hibbert off or bought Neville on and, I hate to say it, but Cahill is past his best!

Great to have Peanuts back, his link up play with Baines and Felli was top quality. He will be a star soon but feel Moysee needs to wave his magic stick over Gibbo. Loving our supper sub tho.

@Deeblue. I hope we don't have Dunc 2 on our hands.. I want a striker who will bang in 20+ goals per season!

For me our best attacking player this season has been Drenthe but for some reason he hardly gets a look in. Its great to see Peanuts back as he has the same attacking spirit and when he gets the ball we seem to move forward with real purpose. Was MoM for me.

With Peanuts you get what it says on the box, a midfielder who likes to play in mid field ,which we have been sadly lacking since tater went, first game in shite conditions . Was promising ,Jelavic looks like we could have Dunc 2 on our hands, Now if we can only inject some of the effort that Straq puts in,into Anichebi we would be sorted. COYB

I thought so too, good performance by the S.African just thought we were a bit flat in the box and the ref looked like he didn't know what he was doing for most of the bad challenges we had played against us. But I think there is going to be a meeting of minds coming with the team settling. Can't wait!
