Big Vic Gets Super Sub Tag
Bookmark and Share

Big Vic will be getting the tag of Super Sub if he carries on scoring goals coming off the bench. His three league goal this season have all been as a substitute. First was the winner on New Year's Day against WBA, then he got the equaliser a couple of weeks later in the draw at Villa and then drew us level with his header against Wigan yesterday.

It looks to be ideal for Victor to start as a sub. After being out for so long with injuries, he obviously he can't do a full ninety. But to come on with 20 minutes to go using his power when defenders are tiring is working for Vic and David Moyes.

David Moyes said: "It was a good ball in and thank goodness he stepped out and got his head on it because they were all queuing up. We needed someone to make a bit of movement and he did.
In the early part of the season young Vellios came off the bench and scored a few goals. You never want the title 'super-sub' but at different times of the season you do want people who can make an impact."

Good grief do these people come from doom mongers "R" Us? Short memories from last Tuesday when Davey was the best thing since sliced bread. You ask him to play his best team, well he did what HE thought not what you think. We all have our own opinions on what our best team is but it's Moyes's choice that matters. He tries to do something, it comes off (like put big Vic on and scores again ) brill! Tries putting Nev on pushing, Fellini up front ( because of the injury to cahill ) and it doesn't come off and according to you he's the worst manager in the prem. Yes I agree Neville is struggling as is Cahill but Moyes thinks they are the best of what we have got available to do the job. I listened to all the vibes on Drenthe but I think he flatters to deceive. Yes he's got pace in abundance but does not use it properly. His cross field passing is as bad as Neville's passing but you want him in the team. Would he get in the side if all the injured players were available? I think not! See it's easy to sit there and criticize. We can all do it, let the manager get on with his job and support the team not shoot him down at every opportunity.

Very dissapointed with the game against wigan, we needed the points badly and where let down again by not being able to beat a poor side. Again i think moyes let us down with the starting 11 and the subs were also pathetic and pointless. The midfield we started with pienaar and donovan on the wings which is fine, centrally we had fellaini and gibbo which is ok but not exactly creative and up front we had denis who has deserved a start and cahill who is a poor player. It was looking at the bench that killed me , drenthe & jeslvic . i wish moyes would play his best team , imagine if we'd have played all the best players and not his best bum chumps. the midfield could have been electric, drenthe and donovan on the wings 2 pacey wingers, fellaini holding and pienaar as the playmaker, feeding jelavic and whoever (take your pick denis vellios etc) that team who have drestoryed wigan !! i had to laugh at the subs, he took cahill off who is the worse player in the team except neville and brough nev on haha , surly that was point to make things better by bringing jelavic on, instead he defeated the object of subbing and put an other defensive player who cannot pass to save his life into a midfield already seriously lacking creativity and put a defensive midfielder up front leaving the striker on the bench . i find his team selection baffling at times and definatly think this latest boo boo cost us 2 points. it made his look a genius when vic came on and scored , as if he knew what he was doing that was the ironic thing.

Yeah and what did Moyes do after Vellios done well coming off the bench to score goals, started him once and because he was quiet dropped him altogether.Vic has always been one of Moyes favourites and now he has scored 3 i can only see him being involved all the time from now on even though he is still shit.It would take a lot to convince me Anichebe deserves to be in the team after years of laziness, bad attitube, punching the floor after a fair tackle, throwing his arms in the air when as pass isnt perfect instead of trying to win the ball back, getting the physio on the pitch after a defender has blown on him, never being fit and not to mention his dire scoring record.
