Heartbreak For Tim

Tim Cahill didn't have one his better games yesterday and has probably lost the chance to go to another FA Cup Final with Everton. He hasn't been as influential has he has been in previous seasons. You wonder about his future with Everton.

He was distraught at the end, but he feels it for the fans.

Tim said: "This is sad because I've had two finals before in the FA Cup. And to now not get to a final, it's heartbreaking.

"But, as much as it is for me, I really feel for the fans because it was there - you could feel it and touch it - and even as players we didn't do it in the end."

"They made some good substitutions and they scored two goals from two errors from us.

"As a team, we'll look at it, but we win together and lose together and that's the only way I can sum it up.

"It's a special group of lads and management and everyone really, really pulls for each other."

We are just not good enough! Our tactics on the day gave the game to the shite!! Moyes needs for once to show us what the team are made of and set them up to win games, instead of going out not to get beat. Fortune favours the brave, but we were cowards on the day and we didn't deserve to win, we didn't show anything. We may not have much money, but the average pay packet out there for us was £40K a week. They have no heart, no spirit and they let the club and the supporters down. Disappointed is an understatement, If the players and the manager don't care, then why should we!!!

I have always really liked Cahill as he seems to get what its like to be an Evertonian. However I hate how everybody is so quick to turn on people. Bar possibly Neville and Jela nobody played well in the semi because we didn't turn up on the day and Liverpool did. Cahill has been linking up well with Jela of late and the lack of pace on the wings is what cost us in the game. Since Christmas however we have been pretty outstanding, and Cahill has been in the team for 90% of that.

Short memories from some contributors here. No one covered themselves in glory in the semi - they all failed together, and it's pointless to single out individuals. Tim Cahill's carried and projected the Blue spirit all the time he's been at the club, and has never given any less than 100%. He's never let anyone down, so show some respect and act like proper Evertonians.

What is our coaching staff teaching Coleman. He runs into defenders when he has the ball and now he runs into them he hasn't got it.

Cahill a legend - maybe not as good as he was but let us not forget!!! He needs to stop playing for OZ and get back to being one of our better players. Get off his back and give him the support he deserves.

Cahill has had a great spell with us. But we will have to look and plan for life after he's gone. Ditto Neville but our main problem Is no right winger to service Jelavic. If we get pienaar and a creative centre mid (Barkley????) we still lack pace and width on the right as. A lot of people have said on here already.

Sorry Paul I didn't realise you were the one paying Cahill's wages. In a footballing world full of mercenaries and players who couldn't care less about their team, Tim Cahill gives his all whenever he pulls on the royal blue shirt. I ask for no more of any Everton player and the thought of how much money he is getting paid doesn't even enter my mind, as I'm sure it doesn't enter Cahill's every time he puts his body on the line for the Blues. Anyway, surely as soon as someone says "Cahill has never been a good player" their opinion becomes void?

Tony D (7) Am sick of this shit about Cahill running through brick walls for Everton. If thats all's thats expected from players then you could pick any Everton fan to do that and he will run his arse off all day for free. Its always nice when a player has a good work ethic but for £50,000 a week i expect a bit of quality to go with it.

I've never been a big Cahill fan.I've always thought he was an average player who is great in the air but while he was scoring goals he could be justified at being in the team ahead of more talented players. Now the goals have long since gone how Moyes can not only still pick him but have the formation based around him is a joke.I know am only one of a few that think Cahill has never been a good player but even his biggest fans must now see he's finished and the chance of the team scoring goals suffers greatly with him on the pitch instead of a proper striker.

Big Tommy I think it's time for your medication. Tim Cahill would run through a brick wall for Everton. We may not have had a semi-final to go to had he not equalised against Sunderland at Goodison.

Love him but everyone can see hes not been up to the task for 18 months, I can count on one hand the amount of good games hes had in that time. Got to be no more than an impact sub from next year like big Dunc was towards the end of his time

At the end of the day the heartbreak he feels doesnt compare to what the fans feel. His performance was shite yesterday nothing more nothing less. Must of played the ball to there keeper at least three times trying to pick out Jelavic easy to say his days are over but who else is there to play instead

Seriously? You wanted Hibbo to come on for Gueye instead of Coleman. so you wanted him to go rb and Neville to join the other 3 cm players we had (regarding Cahill as cm as he clearly isnt a striker as he couldnt hit a barn door) either way Hibbo for Gueye no chance. although swapping Felli with Cahill BIG misake. Took our best player out the game.

As much as I agree that the players - with a few exceptions - don't feel it as much as the fans, if anybody reacts to provocation over a football match with such strength that it causes them to lose their job, then they are arseholes who don't deserve anybody's sympathy. There is NEVER any excuse for being a twat - that's why we hate Suarez. There were mistakes made yesterday, but why would you bring on Hibbo instead of Coleman when you're making an attacking substitution? We did lose sharpness up front when Cahill swapped with Fellaini, but otherwise it was individual mistakes by usually reliable players which cost us. We gave them too much space in the middle as Gibson had probably his first weak game for us. The goals came from mistakes. Part of me thinks we should have waited until after the semi to discipline Drenthe, but then with reasoned thinking he shouldn't be allowed to get away with bad behaviour. Otherwise for a large part of the game we did ok. This talk about Liverpool being there for the taking is absolute garbage. We have similar defensive records and they have scored more goals than us. I can't stand Suarez or Gerrard but they were able to play. Our one real creative spark was cup tied. We have a patchwork squad. Their expensive signings haven't done it over the season, but are capable on their day. It hurts, it really does but for all that we didn't play well there was no lack of effort, no ducking out yesterday. I am proud of my team

Heartbreaking? You have no idea. You dont have to get up at stupid a.m. & take shit off cocks who dont even know what a match ticket looks like but have endless excuses for not going. Some will probably lose their jobs tomorrow such will be the strength of their passion for the cause. You however, wont get seen through the privacy glass on your £60k car.So fuck off.If you feel for us,tell Dithering Dave you will start from the bench alongside Ossie & Neville.

I feel sorry for most of the players including TC..He's been a great for us but he hasn't been the same player since his injury..Okay, one or two sparks lately with him playing off Jelly gives us some hope, but I really cant see him regaining his old form..Moyes made 2 huge fuck-ups yesterday, forcing Tim to drop too far back leaving Jelly on his own, and bringing Coleman on instead of Hibbo..The shite were there for the taking and there's only one man responsible for why we didnt do it..

Don't think we should sell or release him but don't think we should offer him another contract in 2013. Just not as important to the side as he used to be. Sad as he's a proper legend.
