Hibbert Its No Big Deal
Bookmark and Share

Tony Hibbert put in the crosses for Everton's first two goals in the thrilling 4-4 draw at Old Trafford. They were happily put away with style by Nikica Jelavic and Marouane Fellaini.

But Tony was his usual calm, no nonsense self when he played his contribution down. Don't forget he scores when he wants.

Hibbo said: "It was just one of those situations where I got a chance to cross it. The manager had told us to get the ball in the box if we had the chance, so that's all I did.

"You try and put the ball in the right area. You can try and pick people out or you can put it in dangerous areas. That's what I did and we have two big lads in Niki and Felli who can get on the end of it."

Hibbo has been excellent this season and yet continues to get abuse from many quarters. But he is a full back not a wing back. His job is to support his right centre half and hold that side of the pitch. And to this end he has succeeded. The two crosses were an added bonus. When he does score though the old stadium is going to get torn apart!

I think he has improved a lot from last season, he doesn't just slide in anymore he times it perfect now, and as everyone can see he is getting into the danger area`s and his crosses are half as good as Bainseys... I wonder if he would bottle it if he was given a pen by the lads?.... Imagine the buzz at the ground after that goal!!! or should I say Riot? I always remember Bob Latchford getting the last of his 30 goals at Goodison! Everyone went mad!!!! I got flung out of the Street end onto the pitch for the following pitch invasion...Brilliant! I would love the kids of this generation to experience something simular! If any of the Players are reading this Please let him take the pen if he still hasn't scored before the end of the season...Or better still Tony have a crack or two before the season is over....One might go in mate!

I think it should be "He'll score when he wants."

Personally I think Hibbo's had a great season! He's been more solid than usual and his crossing has certainly improved! Just hope he can get that goal before he hangs up his boots! True professional!
