Determined Stracqualursi Playing For Everton Future

Denis Stracqualursi is hoping to get a few games to convince David Moyes that he deserves a full time contract at Everton. The 24 year old found it difficult at the start of his season long loan, but got a few goals in the new year.

The arrival of a fit, goalscoring Nikita Jelavic has left Denis fighting for a spot on the bench with Victor Anichebe, who has scored a few when he has come on. Plus David Moyes has youngsters Apostolos Vellios and Conor McAleny waiting in the wings.

With money for new players and contracts at a premium, the Argentinean striker is going to find it tough.

Denis said: "There were tough times at the beginning of the season, it was difficult. First and foremost, the language made things a bit harder. I wasn't understanding things and I wasn't able to express myself.

"But all that served to do was to give me more desire and make me more determined to achieve my objective, which was to play and score goals.

"Whether things turn out well or badly, I've always had the idea of giving everything."

Does Denis Deserve A Full Contract?

Dennis could become a great player and will not hit his peak for another three seasons why waste money on naismith when dennis has already played in prem not daft scottish version this could turn out worse than the piennar debacle classic moyes

At the right price, Dennis would be worth it. When the chips were down, he stood up to be counted. Imagine the havoc Jelavic would wreak, if the likes of Robert Huth were too busy scrapping with the Count !!

Keep him because we will probably sell Jelavic for a massive profit in the summer to help keep the club afloat.

Nikica Jelavic has been a great buy and despite the fact he's not had a full season at Everton yet, he just about scores in every game he plays in. In a full season, he might score 20 goals if he can avoid injury. With his form at the moment, it might be possible! With Denis Stracqualursi, since the last time when he hit a bit of good form, he went out of the team again and back on the bench again. Why on earth didn't David Moyes keep giving him a chance? Putting him back on the bench, what's he going to do from there? Absolutely nothing! If he has to prove himself and show his potential in order to do enough to gain a permanent contract, it might be a bit late for that as the season is almost over. As a striker he has a good work ethic, but hasn't scored many goals. If Tigre asks for a fee that we would find agreeable, I don't know if David Moyes will sign him. It depends whether he thinks Denis has done enough and if he goes by his goals no he hasn't done enough, but if he goes by his potential and work ethic on the pitch, I would say yes. Yes, he is young but can David Moyes work with him, get more of the best out of him and encourage him to get the confidence to score better on the pitch. I personally think he can. He has to step up his game and be better, work harder in training but at 24 I think he can do that and can score better than he has previously. He may not reach a stage of scoring a goal every game like Jelavic is doing at the moment, but I think he can become a fairly decent goal scorer. But however, I think if it's true that Tigre want £5 million then I don't think we should sign him. At a lower fee we would find more reasonable, I would say sign him but at £5 million no way! We found Jelavic for around £5 million and he has scored in just about every game he's played in. I think for £5 million I'm sure there's another striker out there who like Jelavic could score well also. If he's not signed permanently then maybe David Moyes might give him another chance and maybe do another loan deal for him. I suppose only time will tell what will happen come the summer!

I don't think so. He's done his best and managed a few goals but he just doesn't have the necessary ability for long term success. A likeable hard working character but it takes more than that. Good luck to him. It must have been difficult for him in a different country and not able to speak the language. I can't see him lasting after the end of the season.

Denis deserves a contract, if he'd of played at wembley he would have lead by example, unsettled the shite's defenders and left Jelavic to pick up the pieces. Would love to see dennis and jelly upfront, anichebes a joke. Lets not forget the Straq was the one who turned our season around, when u got someone like him puttin the effort in upfront, the rest of the team has to follow or risk lookin like uninterested muppets like they were b4 he came in the side. Sign Denis and lets see him and Jelavic upfront together!

I like him for his workrate and he got us through a tough patch against City, Chelsea etc with his workratefrom the front motivating the rest of the team to follow suit. Obviously depends on money but personally we need to invest money elsewhere. Who amongst us would rather the £1million or whatever be invested towards getting Pienarr back???

Nothing against the guy, but Jelavic has replaced him. Then Anichebe, Vellios, Hope and even Cahill and Fellaini are good back up so would rather see us loan somebody else. Must say massive thanks for his performances against Fulham, blackpool, Chelsea and city! Played his part turning our season around. If money was no object then maybe, but we need to focus on getting Moyesie and keeping Pienaar on new deals! COYB ETID

When he played with Cahill I thought the pair of them were making the same runs and going for the same balls. Maybe a replacement for Cahill? He could cause some centrebacks from the likes of Stoke, Bolton Norwich (teams we seem to struggle with playing 4-5-1 the last couple of seasons) some problems next season whilst Jelly slots them.

#25 how can you say he's shite. He's done nothing wrong for us. I agree if he would only cost 1.5 million or less we should 100% get him. 5m is to much but that story will be BS.

Paddy @ No. 2 is spot on! apart from the City game were he worked his arse off and the unconvinsing goal V Chelsea that Chec should have EASILY had. Denis is shite, reminded me of Brett Angel utter donkey and not good enough. He wont be a goal scorer and for a team that plays 1 up front how they hell will that work. Drenthe - liability and tit. Rodwell is potential that has never improved in 2 years, always injured and had enough chances to fill in for injured Fellenni and Arteta and done sod all! Rant over.

He's decent back up, no doubt, but the ECHO said Tigre wanted 5million for him?? Not worth it sadly, as decent as it would be to keep him.

Hes got to get a contract in my opinion, when things weren't going well he still stuck to it, when things weren't going well for everton he give his all every game, may not be the best player on the ball but his work ethic is second to none, SIGN HIM UP

Denis is a part of the history of our team now. His efforts have been great and well appreciated. No doubt about it, he will always be fondly remembered, but he is just not good enough for where we want to be. If we sign him we will be showing a complete lack of ambition.

The fact that there has been so may postings, the vast majority supporting The Count, proves that he is loved by Everton fans, i really believe that he can be Cahills longterm replacement. I think he will take weight of "The Assassin" also his flick ons and hold up play is so important, i wish the boy luck, always gives his best Onwards and upwards the blues

On the assumption that we won't have an awful lot (if anything) to splash around then I'm afraid it's a No for Denis. Sheer effort isn't enough, Velios & McAleny can give you that, (sorry Victor)and the comparison with Jelavic only emphasises that.

He did okay when we were struggling, and notched a few scrappy goals when we were baron in front of goal BUT has never really looked good enough for me. With Jellyfish we are a force and he doesn't warrant a fee for me, money better spent elsewhere as he'll bench warm. We shouldn't be looking to put someone out on the pitch to batter down their defence.we are better than that. Good luck to the guy but not good enough for us.

Cannot knock his commitment to the club. He always gives 100%, but i just feel he lacks class in the penalty area and therefore would release him and put the money forward, if any, towards bringing back Pienaar. Good luck to the Strac wherever he goes and thanks for your effort.

In his few shows for us he has never let us down, great work ethic and if the fee is not silly then what have we got to lose ? I'd sooner see him on the bench than Victor, both similar palyers but Straq is 'a bit more energetic'.

Heard Tigre want no less than £5mil for him so let him go back! Yes he works hard, runs none stop and gives 100% eveytime but he's not worth £5mil. To be honest, looking at his touch I dont even believe he is Argentinian, think Moyes seen him selling Big Issues on Bold Street with his brother and flipped a coin to see which one he offered a contract to. Good Luck to him whatever happens! #StracFacts

I love the guy, but would be a step in the wrong direction. He is not good enough and would only serve to block the development of the likes of Velios, Hallam Hope and Conor Mcaleny

Can he do a job for the club? I believe the Argies do take longer to adapt to European Football so maybe next season he'll come a cracker! He is also defensive minded and that's got to count for something in Moyes books! If only Risky Rickie had the same determination and professionalism as the Count! We'd be up there with the big boys next season! I was Royston's biggest fan till he turned my Semi in to shit without even kicking a ball! Definitely Everton's biggest disappointment in a long while! As for the Count, he was Argentina's top scorer the year before so I guess it'd be mad not to give him another chance!

Give him a contract -he'll cost near nowt, ain't a cheat or a prima donna, seems to love the club for giving him a chance, great flick ons for Jelly, desperate to prove himself, will sit on the bench and wait his turn without pulling faces, tracks back, and WILL develop under Moyes' tuition. It's a no brainer.

Sorry not good enough for Everton. Bernie Wright, Bret Angel,Peter Eastoe come to mind. If you want somebody to work hard Paddy Murphy has just been finished up at his building job.

Sign him up, the kid's got bags of talent. Yes, unsure in front of goal, but he's young and hungry. If Moyes can develop him he's another great find. Give him a go alongside Jelly and let him do the hard work and play the big guy in.

The Count would be a great foil for Jelavic or solid backup. Works so hard that goals will come, but only if he gets a run in the team to build his confidence. If the price is right I think we should definitely sign him up.

It very much depends on how much he will cost. No more than a million and he is worth a go otherwise let him go.

Give the lad a contract. Imagine his work rate hounding defenders whilst jelavic would thrive on it, two up top 1 work horse who gets in the thick of things and a clinical finisher would serve us well. But In Moyes We Trust and what he says goes!

Sign him up. If only more players would put his desire and energy into every minute on the pitch...

He does deserve a contract purely down to his work ethiic. The guy just wants to succeed which is more than can be said about the younger guys who are from the Academy who lack any real drive! Sign him up!

Give him a contract. I dont know what Moyes sees in Anichebe!

NO CHANCE! Fair play to the lad, he tries hard, but we've got enough of them in our squad. Look what happens when we actually buy a player like Jelavic.... We get GOALS. Denis always looks so uncomfortable in front of goal!! Get rid of him, Drenthe and Rodwell. Bring in a playmaker, Pienaar and Dempsey.
Paddy, Wavertree, 9:33 AM 26/04/2012

Yes give him a contract. He has desire and gives 100 % everytime I've seen him play. Anichibe needs to look at this lads effort!
