Vic Wants Regular Starts

Victor Anichebe hopes to start next season injury free and leading the Everton attack. Big Vic has been plagued with injuries in his Everton career, but since his comeback in January he has scored 5 goals in 13 appearances.

Although most of his appearances have been from the bench or playing out on the wing, the 24 year old hopes to get a full pre-season in and start as centre fireworks. Love your optimism Vic. For someone who has nearly double the appearances from the bench as starting for the team.

Big Vic said: "Considering the amount of appearances I've actually made it's a good return, but hopefully next year I will be playing more games and playing from the start while staying injury free.

"I expect more from myself. I need to apply that next year and be better. Someone was telling me about my goals to games ratio and it's nice to know but I don't want to look too much into it.

"I'd prefer to play more games and more minutes. Hopefully when I'm fitter and stronger I can do that from the start.

"I see myself as a forward. I don't know if it's a number nine or behind that, or just drifting but I've had experience of playing all these now. As long as I am helping the team I can't really complain. Going on I see myself as playing up front."

"There's lots of optimism for next season. The way we've finished on a good high, the players that have come in have made a big difference, and hopefully we can bring it into next season this time."

Anichebe is the Frank Bruno of football. On the face of it he has all the equipment-size, speed, strength- but he never delivers. I agree with Eddie, in fifty years I'm hard pushed to name a worse player I've seen in an Everton shirt.

Moyes is one of the best managers in the Prem with an eye for a player and he sees Anichebe as a player who offers something to Everton but i think this time his eye for a player is wrong with Vic, the lad spends too much time in the physio room or on the bench and when hes not there and playing hes on the deck!, lets get him sold we wont get much for him but 3m to 3.5m is better than nothing

I think there's a player in there. The trouble is his attitude prevents it getting out. Stop moaning Vic and get on with it, then maybe you'll make it.

Nice to see we are all getting behind the team!!! As things stand he is an Everton player and therefore should have our full support. I agree he isnt the best but while he is at our club we should get behind him. Imagine if he read these comments hardly going to fill him with confidence for next season. Also @ #3 why do we need saleable assests? Is that what u think we should be aiming for? Some of our "fans" would be better off f***ing off!!!

I can't remember a player who not even one person liked. Nobody I know thinks he is anywhere near good enough to be playing for Everton. He should be sold but Moyes seems to love him so it probably won't happen. He needs to get realise that he's not as good as he thinks he is.

Keep it up Vic, maybe this season you will learn to stop banging the floor when you lose the ball though.

Vic does need to get himself really fit, he is like a tank, but all that muscle needs alot of carrying around. I think fitness will always be an issue with him. If he gets sharp theres no doubt he can be a handfull and i think Moyes may pursevere with him. One thing Vic must do is calm his temper, stop moaning when he is fouled and get up of his ass and get on with it

HAHAHA Very funny Vic. No. You will play second fiddle to Jelavic (Third if we buy someone) and you will like it.

I think moyes will give him one more season then if he doesnt find the consistency then he must go. Anichebe is one of the players we should be looking to offload to make funds available plus with jelavic up front he will find it very hard to get a start unless it is on the right wing were he is innafective also most evertonians question his attitude like when he scores and hes got a face like a smacked arse.

Sorry mate, your a Championship striker at best, or a bit player for us. Cash him in Moysey and offer a contract to the Count.

Ship him out at the first opportunity. He never delivers and his attitude sucks.

Too slow. Too full of self pity. Not enough determination. If he's not gone before the start of the season he will before the end. A championship player at best.

it wont happen when we have a striker (jelavic) who' scoring goals for fun, do you truly believe that you are better than jelavic if so your deluded. there's also straq who in my opinion is better than you

This fellah is the biggest fraud since another number 9 who made the odd appearance for us and yet has cult status. I know it's not a popular view, but Everton need young, hungry and ambitious saleable assets. We can't afford deadweights like this. He showed last season where his loyalties lie - with himself. We owe him nothing.

Good luck with that Victor. I think you could play regularly as a striker. However, it wouldn't be at Everton and most likely in League 1 as I think that is your level.
