Steven Pienaar's future likely to be high on the agenda with David Moyes during the Summer. The Everton manager has already said he wants to bring Peanuts from Spurs to Goodison Pak permanently. Pienaar had tear filled eyes as he spoke on the pitch after the 3-1 win over Newcastle.

Pienaar said: "For me it was important to finish the way I started with a goal and helping the team to a victory. The supporters deserved this.

"The second half of the season the guys were fantastic. I'm just glad I was part of it and we'll see what will happen in the future.

"I think it went well. I'm pleased with myself don't forget I didn't play much in first half of the season and the only way I could pay the manager and the supporters was by performing. I think I did well.

"For the next few months Everton fans will be the pride of Liverpool. That is important to us. We lost in the semi-final, put it behind us and made sure we kept going till the last game.

"It's hard. The first time I left I didn't say goodbye, and this time around it's a bit sad. We'll see what happens in the summer.

"I just want to say thanks to the supporters from day one. I really appreciated it."

@ 12, can't believe Pienaar would be mad enough to go to Sunderland.

All agree that we need Pienaar permanently. Most suspect that Redknapp/Levy will hold us to ransom. How about Pienaar paying the difference between what we sold him for and what Spurs want, if he wants to come back so much ?

He can't and wont be sold for 8 million simply because of his age, but half that may still be too much for Everton. The decent thing would be to let him go for what we got for him 2 or 3. He could still be extremely useful for Spurs, tho' I hope his personal wishes will be taken into account and a deal can be struck. Hope so anyway...

I just fear we will have to sell to buy! If we have to sell then let it be rodwell I think if we get 15m for him we are doing well, levvy wil price pienar at no less than 6m so no ifs or buts GET HIM. I for 1 am sick and tired of waitin till aug 31 t scrape the barrel for loanees and castaways, year after year it spoils are preperation, who knows maybe if we have to sell early and get peanuts in, a right midfielder and a striker, maybe we can settle early and start the season how we finish for once. KENWRIGHT GET IT SORTED AND LET MOYES AND THE FANS KNOW WHERE WE STAND.

It is obvious what he brings to our team. Just look at the semi game when we didn't have him, we created nothing. Got to everything we can to get him back.

Was difficult for him here at Spurs... didn't really fit into the system we play, had a few ggod games but when he had his chance, normally in the Europa, it was with the kids and fringe players and the whole team struggled a bit. I think it would be best for all if he moved back to Everton (if we keep Modric which will be tough) he obviously loves it up there and fits well... the problem is, and its a big one! is that most assume that he will go quite cheap as we got him cheap.... but then his contract was running down and I guarantee that Levy will want top top dollar for him now... I think that he will leave Spurs this summer, but fear Levy will price Everton out, I'm sure you could afford it but will you pay 8 million for a player you sold for 2-3 million not long ago?

Fair play to the lad, he's come back in and done a cracking job. Him and Bainesy connected again as if they'd never been seperated and without his creativity you wonder where we would have finished. Just hope we can get him back from Spurs for a reasonable price?

Dare I say we told you so before you left. I seriously hope we sign him! He's outstanding and vastly improves the quality of football we play. He knows deep down where his heart lies & the fact that this is his home! Enjoy the summer break & we'll see you in August nuts, all being well!

Came back with a vengeance did Peanuts. His trickery and perfectly placed passes will be sorely missed. Pity he left in the first place.
