Now that Sylvain Distin has signed a new one year deal he can go on his Jollies knowing that he is coming back to Everton for sure.
To be honest I wasn't sure about Buzz at the start of his career but you have to say he has been an incredible signing by David Moyes. Even at the age of 34 he is as fit as a butcher's dog. It looks like he can play for another three seasons or so.
After Mikky Arteta went he has taken over the mantel of the good looking one. I must say we have the best looking squad in the league. Once you put the blue shirt on you feel better about yourself. Oh my days the feminine side of me is coming out. I'd better shut up.
Sylvain said: "I am really happy it is done and I can go on holiday now and relax. I was always confident but you never know. Sometimes it can take a little longer than expected but it is done now and I am really happy to be staying for another season.
"From my side there was never any issue and I said from day one that I wanted to stay. The club also made me understand that they wanted me to stay and that is why we were talking about my contract.
"As I said, it maybe took a bit longer than expected, but the most important thing is that it is done now, I really wanted it and I am really happy."
"It's been a battle from day one really. At first Joey Yobo was there too, now it's two amazing players - one played a final in the World Cup, and Jags is one of the top centre backs in England so I don't understand why he's not in the England squad for the Euros.
"It's healthy competition and it's good for the squad. Between us it's great, we enjoy spending time together and have a great chemistry.
"It keeps you on your toes because if you don't perform well you might not play the next game. It's great. I have no assurances I'll play next season, nobody has, and it's good. That can only make the team better and drag us all up. It's good.
"The atmosphere in the dressing room is just great. It's very relaxed and laid-back and we all enjoy being with each other and spending time with each other.
"There's a good work ethic as well and the lads make you feel welcome right away."
"I used to say the relationship with supporters is like with a girlfriend. You need to take time to get to know each other and like each other and enjoy each other and understand each other.
"It was a bit frustrating at the beginning because the supporters at Everton are very demanding but that's more passion than anything else. Then you see the fans in a different way and I feel comfortable with them now."
"I feel physically pretty good. I've never really had any big injuries. I will carry on as long as I can, they will have to kick me out I think. You never know, one injury can finish your career. I will do the best I can and time will tell me when to stop.
"Maybe I feel more confident now than when I first arrived. I had to adapt to the intensity of the training, it's very intense here and in the first season it's very difficult to get used to it.
"No matter what your age, you gain experience and there's always something to learn, and the more you play the better you can be.
"If I'm staying behind for an extra few hours training then it's to make sure I can play."
