FIFA Give Clearance For Naismith
Bookmark and Share

FIFA has given some former Rangers players the green light to begin their careers with new clubs and Steven Naismith is one of them.

The first to be confirmed was Jamie Nesshttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif who has signed for Stoke, with the SFA later adding Kyle Lafferty (FC Sion), Steven Whittaker (Norwich) and finally Nais.

All had been left in limbo waiting for international clearance after refusing to transfer their contracts to the Scottish club's newco.

Rangers owner Charles Green rejected the claim that the players were free agents, sending letters to clubs across the UK warning them that those who objected to the switch to Sevco were in breach of contract.

PFA Scotland solicitor Margaret (The Funky) Gribbon said: 'I can confirm that they have been granted provisional clearance from FIFA.'

'I am delighted about that and expect all other applications pending before FIFA to take the same course.'

So Moyesy was right to be relaxed about the whole thing and can now concentrate on getting Nais fit.

I don't really think this was ever going to be a problem. The outcome of this situation was always going to be that he would be given clearance to play for Everton. We knew that would happen anyway and hopefully now in the new season, that he will form a great striking partnership with Nikica Jelavic. All the best to you Steven!
