Joey Leaves For Turkey
Bookmark and Share

According to Our Snout and to Fenerbahçe, the transfer of Joseph Yobo was completed yesterday, nothing official from Everton yet.

Reports say that Everton have accepted the Istanbul club's €2.5 million offer following a lengthy negotiation process which dragged on over several weeks. Fener had been unwilling to meet Blue Bill's £3.5m valuation of Joey and there was deadlock.

This will now hopefully bankroll a move for Peanuts to be transferred from Spurs.

Moyesy deemed Joey surplus to requirements and has been keen to offload our Nigerian International who has been on loan with the Istanbul giants for the past two seasons and cemented himself as a first team regular.

He featured in 42 games last season and played an integral role in the Canaries finishing runners-up despite their turbulent year.

Joey is now expected to join Fenerbahçe in Austria for pre-season training.

A good Everton servant who will be fondly remember in the main (other than those memory lapses).

This also, hopefully, puts paid to any move involving Johnny Heitinga otherwise we leave ourselves exposed in the centre-back department.

Has Joey gone or not? If not then tell Fenerbache to forget it. Spurs are short in defensive cover having lost Ledley King. Straight swap Joey for Peanuts - job done - simples.

The transfer market just confuses me, rumoured 5.5 million for Johnny, rumoured 10 million for Leighton. These are two top class internationals n 2 of our best players last year n yet Liverpool are paying 15 million for an untried in Joe Allen. Do we need to start selling to Liverpool to get true value or do other clubs see our financial plight as an excuse to undervalue our players n mug us??

He's given great service to the club in the past, but this saga has gone on too long. Good luck, Joey!

With Yobo gone and Timmy going, this means we must have freed up £100k plus a week to bring in new blood.

Well thats that deal done! Now we know who NOT to deal with ever again... Lying Bastards! When you agree a fee before a loan period you should honor it! Good Luck Joey lad!
