Hodgson Is Latest Critic Of 'Our Jack'
Bookmark and Share

England boss Woy Hodgson is the latest to say that Jack Rodwell might struggle to get a regular place at Sitteh this season.

'Our Jack' jumped ship on Sunday in a deal that suited both Everton and Sitteh completing his £15m+ transfer but how much time on the pitch will he get this season?Woy thinks very little, just like Big Joe Royle does too.

Roberto Mancini has already warned Rodwell he may face a wait to establish himself at the Etihad Stadium, which is not ideal for the England No.1.

Woy said: 'I'll be honest. I think this year there'll be quite a few times I have to select players who won't be in their team.'

'I don't know how many starts Jack Rodwell will get at Manchester City.'

'That's a risk, but it's the nature of the Premier League.'

'There are so few English players in the league, and many of them playing for the same club.'

Maybe the grass will not be greener for 'Our Jack'?

Personally I don't think he'll live up to his early promise, and I think it was probably an easy decision letting him go to a club for good money knowing that even though we've let him go, he wasn't a first team regular and there's also a very good chance he won't be playing against us either.

A bit unfair this. He's just coming back from yet another injury. If he gets a clear run he then we'll see if he will ever live up to his promise. I am guessing he won't but I wish him all the best. That was a really good financial deal for us, a lot better than I thought. Given his injuries I expected about 8-10 million at most.

as you said in the article.... "it suited both us and Siteeh" for him to go, so I've no regrets about him going, and although the reality is that he's going to be warming the Arab bench until he retires, we do wish him well for the future. Its just a pity that Sir Dave couldnt convince Mankini that Rodders is worth £24 million....
