Rodwell Transfer Was Correct For All
Bookmark and Share

Discussing the Jack Rodwell transfer with many Evertonians I would say that 90% would agree that it was correct for David Moyes to get the money for Jack. As long as he gets the cadburys to spend on players.

Moyesy said: "I'd known about it for a wee while. It was something which I thought was right for Jack, it was right for Everton, it was something I just felt at this moment in time was right and gives us a chance maybe to do a little bit more business in the transfer market.

"We had to raise the money so hopefully I'll try to add to the squad before the season starts. It gave Jack an opportunity to go to a really good club and take his chances there."

Transfer suited both parties. Jack had to move on he had become stale and was never going to fulfill his potential with us. He was never fit, didn't dominate games and was not even first choice. Good business by Moyes, who again has shown another City manager how to conduct himself in the press.

Another masterstroke from Moyes, thank the lord for Man City and the arabs, without them Everton would not have had all this money and inflated prices. I know Moyes has had his critics and sometimes the tactics ? but you cannot fault his recent tranfer dealings. In JUST 8 months, we have shipped out players who werent quite up to it and brought in Jelavic, Naismith, Gibson, Pienaar, and the young Irish propect, not to mention (yes i will) probably Mirallas, and we havent finished our business yet. Additionally we havent had to sell anyone that we wanted to keep, a quite remarkable turnaround !

Wallace - Something is good. We are getting in quality players, younger players. Just another negative post from someone who hasn't a clue.

Somethings not good. We were already thin. Why sell 3 to buy 3? (including the freebie Naismith) Foreverskint! Annoying but mediocre will be the future.

Definately the right move at the right time for both parties. I would have loved JR to have fulfilled his potential at Everton but sadly it never materialised. Moyesy needed cash for fresh players and now we await the outcome ! I will be very very happy if we secure Kevin Miralles and Nyiang or Matt Phillips, either way I trust whoever Moyes brings in will only improve our side for what I hope will be a big season for us blues !! David Moyes's statement above demonstrates the difference between him and Mancini, no criticism or snide remarks, compliments even. I feel that Jack Rodwell's career under Mancini will go backwards; sadly but that's football. At least now, with his inflated salary, he can afford to get a good looking nurse to get those splinters out of his backside
