He deserves to win at least one title in his career, he's arguably the best left back in the league so it would be a shame if he retired without one. Saying that he has maybe 6 or 7 years playing at this level and it doesn't appear like he's pushing for a move. I'd love to keep him till he retires but I can't see that as an option so getting a few more years out of him then letting him move on to someone like United seems like the best deal for us. If he does really want to leave I'd rather him go to them because they've always gave us a fair deal since Moyes has been in charge but I hope that he doesn't leave because he's just unbelievable.

Our best players have only left if they wanted to leave and asked to leave i.e. Rooney, Lescott, Arteta, or Moyes has decided they are surplus to requirements, i.e. Jack Rodwell. I do not believe Baines will leave, I think he can see we are close to something special this season. Also with two years to the world cup he will want regular first team football to prove to Hodgson he is the best left back in the world.

Yes, Baines was a red. Whatever the outcome, thus far Baines has behaved impeccably. Really hope we repel the advances as we are on the cusp of putting together a strong, fairly young team that will firslly be the strongest team in the city then keep pushing for European places. Ferguson likes to sow seeds early but this time I feel we're in a position to refuse. Finally, if we do keep Baines, Felli et al, then Bill should take some credit. It annoys me the way people are constantly going on about how much a player is worth. A player is only worth the amount of money that another club is willing to pay for them and the amount that the parent club are willing to sell for.
