Bill Kenwright revealed that Steven Pienaar was the player that he and David Moyes wanted before anyone else this summer.
Peanuts put in a great return performance against United and you have to say that he was worth every penny that we paid for him.
Blue Bill said: "David said in the press just how important Steven Pienaar is. And that was not an easy negotiation. Tottenham were very decent to deal with but it was not easy and took a long, long time to sort that one out.
"Naismith happened relatively quickly and then last week was all Olympiakos.
"We have brought in three important players.
"But I think, and I am a fan first, it was Steven. I wanted Steven and so did David Moyes and we thought as one on that."
David Moyes said: "We knew when last season finished that we had to bring Steven Pienaar back to Everton - really at any cost."
