New signing Kevin Mirallas made his Everton debut as a sub in the 3-1 win at Aston Villa. Although he was only on the field for 20 minutes he clearly impressed the fans with his speed and positional play.
The Belgian international was close to a debut goal only to be pulled up for offside.
Kev said: "My teammates didn't stop talking to me on the field. They were speaking to me and helping me out so it was great.
"It was a fantastic moment to come on. With us 3-0 up, it meant that I could go on a bit calmer than normal.
"I don't know if it was offside or not, I couldn't tell.
"It certainly would have been a fantastic debut if it had counted, but I'll be going all out to score in the next game now.
"The main thing is getting into the right places, getting into the pace of the game and getting minutes on the field.
"We're clearly playing very good football at the moment and that reinforces the decision I made to come here.
"I knew I was coming to a great club, but the fact that we're playing so well - I think we merited the victory today by some distance. Let's hope we can continue.
"I was already impressed with the support at home to Manchester United and although we didn't outnumber the home fans obviously, we certainly outsang them."
