These open letters are flying about at the moment.

Yesterday, redshite owner John Thomas Henry was fire fighting to appease the shite faithful and today we have one of a completely different kind from Denis Stracqualursi to the Everton faithful.

Count Strac was full of admiration about his Everton experience (once Everton has touched you.....)  and he described it as living the beautiful dream.

The Count became a cult figure (that was cult) overnight due to his non-stop effort and bagging a few goals to boot. Anyone who saw his first appearance against Villa reserves possibly realised that he would not be around long. But the season turned around and we have fond memories of Strac too.

The Count said: "Playing in that stadium was like a beautiful dream and something which I will never forget,"

"I will be grateful all my life for the kindness with which I was treated. Some of the nicest things that happened in my life happened there."

"The year at Everton was the best year of my career and I will never forget those amazing fans."

"I loved my time there and I enjoyed every single training session. I was surrounded by top, top players who were all really nice guys as well and they all helped me to feel part of the group."

"I was also lucky to have a great manager in David Moyes and I learnt so much from him."

"He is also a great person and he was always really straight with me and told me exactly what he was thinking. It was something which was really useful while I was there and something that will really help me in my future career."

"Reaching the semi-final of the FA Cup was fantastic as well and again highly emotional when you consider all the work the squad had put in to get there."

"I really love Everton and will always have a soft spot for the place. I send all my best wishes to the Club and its supporters for the new season."

Bloody hell Denis, we are near crying reading this! Well said The Count, we will not forget you.

What a genuinely decent lad and a real grafter. I do think Moyes could have nurtured the raw talent and you cannot buy the determination, loyalty and respect to the club that this kid shows. Good luck son.

Top notch attitude from a tireless centre forward who gave us everything during his short stay here,i suspect that it could have been extended, but the insurance premiums quoted to the Board to cover any harm to his eye brows blew any compromise out of the water.Total respect Denis and Muchos Gracious Amigo.

A tireless grafter, and like Blue Monkey said, he was a top bloke and role model. Anytime I was over last season, during warm ups etc you could see his love for the fans, and chap always had a humble smile on his face when signing autographs. Can't buy that kind of pro in this day and age...

Thanks Denis. If you had been picked a bit earlier in instead of lazy arse Saha, we may have got off to a better start. You're welcome back any time to visit mate.

Love Denis for everything he did at our great club. When you compare him and certain 35M shite (still/former???) front man. It is a non-contest. Denis wins every time. I was sad that he couldn't sign permanently. Certainly always ahead of Anichebe in my eyes (@14 Jake, it is not a hate, just rational and logical observation - Denis won fans over in less than 6 months, Victor hasn't done that since he is at the club - it is not a coincidence). Give Count another go in January if available. Long live the Count. I bet that Leicester City manager and staff were amazed that he played some great stuff for Everton in EPL, but he wasn't good enough for such "potent" club as LC when offered a trial. After all Foxes are so Good... Once again Moyes proved that when it comes to man-management he is one of the best in the business.

It seems like some people take every chance they get to rail on Anichebe and it makes me sick! The guy works hard and does well when called upon. He scored more goals in fewer appearances than Straq last season. I love Straq too but he's not as good as Anichebe or trust Moyes he'd be gone and Straq would be at Goodison! Besides Anichebe is just a sub, sure he'd like to start, (what proper player doesn't) but he's just a sub. The hate for Vic makes no sense!

I think if you asked Evertonians 100% would take the Count over a certain other lazy striker

I must say that I liked the Denis. He worked harder than most and evidently knew what it meant to play for the club. I agree, if I had the choice between him and Anichebe, I'd choose Denis every time. Best of luck Denis.

My youngest son loved Dennis every game when he was sub and was warming up on the pitch at half time he always shouted to him and Dennis gave him he thumbs up. Last game v Newcastle Dennis came over to where we sit and gave him his shin pads. M son wears them every time he plays Top man Dennis

Dennis will long be remembered by me as a player who gave his all for his teamates and fans. We should have rewarded this with a contract and moved on some of the other forwards who dont give this level of commitment. Wish him all the best and would love to see him back. His words sum up the man 100% pure class. Long live the straq.

He did his best and gave us something to cheer in the dark days of last Winter. He gave some of the more quality centre backs of the league a tough time so he can hold his head up high when he remembers the shifts he put in the Blue jersey.

Dennis was the man that rescued everton... Think about it! Man City @ home..... What a shift you put in lad, if only every player would try half as hard as you would mate!

Absolute legend. When he cried after scoring it said it all and transcended the bullshit, Sky TV, Champions League, "I'm sad" era of football we have all come to know and hate.. True Rocky story.. Love you Strac.

Good lad denis. It did my head in the way he never even got a minute on the pitch at wembley. He deserved to have some part to play as he was 100% our hardest worker.
