Matt Kennedy Wants To Follow Nace Footsteps
Bookmark and Share

Matthew Kennedy joined Everton from Kilmarnock last Friday and is looking to follow in fellow Kilmarnock old boy Steven Naismith's steps and the youngster cannot wait to prove himself.

At just 17, Kenno accepts he will have to wait his chance but says the thought of one day running out alongside Nace will remain a constant motivation.  He also gave an insight about his playing style and what we can look forward to in the future.

Kenno said:"It feels brilliant to be an Everton player because it's a massive, massive team."

"Obviously I've followed in Naismith's footsteps. He started at Kilmarnock as well so it's good for myself to follow in his footsteps.  I've watched him since I was a young boy, since I was about 10. I've always watched him and I think he's brilliant."

"I can't wait to move down and get started now."

"I'm an attacking player and I like to take players on. I can lose the ball at times but I like to take players on and create a lot of chances. I got my opportunity because of injuries but the gaffer said I took my chance. I was the top scorer in pre-season for Kilmarnock so that was brilliant."

"Now obviously I've come here and it's not just Scousers and English lads, there are people from back home who can support me and bring me on as a player."

"I got up on Friday morning, went to training, didn't know what was going on, didn't think I was going to be an Everton player by the end of the day. But it's brilliant for me to get it over and done with and I can't wait to get started now."

Well said young man. Good luck Matty.

Lee #1 Apparently the parent club wanted us to pay around £20k a week for him even though his wages were around half of this. Due this we have to set up a one off payment of around £1 million for his year loan, as usually the loaning club would just pay the players wages or a part of it as agreed with the parent club. Due to the parent club being greedy bastards and wanting more for him that what they pay, we have to get the deal sanctioned by UEFA and this is why there's a hold up. Still £20k a week for a player who Vincent Kompany said Man City should have got after letting De Jong go can't be bad going COYB

Welcome to football heaven Matt. Goodison has had and still does a great history of Scots players who made it big and I think you might just join them.
