Felli In The Right Position
Bookmark and Share

It was another magnificent performance from our big haired one yesterday against Swansea. David Moyes resisted playing Marouane Fellaini in a deeper role and allowed him to play the "free" role.

And what a decision that proved to be. Felli scored his third goal of season, the same amount as last season. He was a thorn in Swansea's side all afternoon having a hand in the other two goals

Well done Felli.

Is there anybody better in the Premiership at the moment?

Felli said: "It was a great game, the team played well and we scored three goals so everybody's happy.

"This season I play more in the front so I try to score goals in the box, and at the moment it's good for the team.

"At the moment the players have good confidence and we'll try again in our next game on Tuesday to win against Leeds."

If he had any sense he would stay with us as he is first on the team sheet and this squad is going places. He would have to rotate at a lot of the Champ League teams and fight for his place. Think he is a great nuisance but there are other parts to his game he needs to work on if wants to get to the level where he should be at. I don't think him as target man is the answer as we found out against Newcastle. They had three on him at times and we should have went to a plan B. With Gibbo back his best position would be box to box covering and breaking down the opposition with his ball winning skills where possible and pushing up to help in the attacks when we have the ball. I can't wait to watch us when we are firing on all cylinders.

I think Fellaini playing where he is is just fine, but more so when Gibbo is playing. Phil Neville is doing ok, but he's not as versatile or mobile as Gibson. The midfield 3 with Gibson, Ossie, and Felli in front of them looks nicely balanced. Gibson's discipline sitting in front of the defence allows Ossie to get about the pitch a bit more. With Neville there, Ossie needs to stay deeper and he isn't really suited to that. I don't think Felli is suited to that deeper role either because he has a tendency to give cheap free kicks away around the box. It's been in the advanced role, or playing along Gibson where he's won the plaudits, so while it's working I'd say keep it that way.

defintily the best player in the prem at the minute, if he carrys on playing like he is this season i cant see him in a blue shirt next season and definitly if we dont qualify for europe, if he does go id couldnt bare to watch him play in the prem for someone else so i hope he goes abroad and when he does if carroll is worth 35m whats our Felli worth!

NO NO NO!! Money is nothing to us or we would be City fans. 100 Million should not buy Felli Bains or Penut. Love our team and want to be there when we win something COYB

i disagree , fellaini's position should be in the middle of midfield . allow Jelavic & Mirellas / Naismith / Victor to play up front. 2 real strikers. Has everyone forgot how amazing mario is in the middle of the park? games against city & chelsea inparticular last season just to name a couple. Its working though playing him up front but its not the answer. Leave our midfield weaker & removes one less quality attacking player !

Just enjoy his play while he's with us. I'll be surprised if we get a full season out of him but if we do we might win a cup and qualify for Europe. Fingers crossed.

He's such a big clutz! Love him to death, and the way the keeper hoofs the ball up the field and he catches it on his chest! Priceless when you see a defender trying to figure out how to deal with that, because most forwards and mid-fielders just knock it on or down with their head... 30 million plus if he does go in January. Fergie has his eye on him as do Chelski. All we need now is City to get involved or even QPR. Real Madrid or Barca and we could get way more than we expect. I would hate to lose him especially if we are doing well this season, maybe even win something..can't see it right now without him...

Couldnt agree more. He is now a world class player and would fit into any of Europes top teams. I would hate to see him go, but when a big big offer comes in, which it surely will, financially we arent really in a position to say no are we ?

When Felli eventually does leave us, expect a bidding war(should his contract allow it) because he is good enough to play in midfield for any team in Europe, and that includes Barca and Madrid
