Coleman Happy With Mirallas Link Up
Bookmark and Share

With Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar getting all the plaudits for their fantastic play down the lefy flank, Seamus Coleman is hoping that after Saturday's link up with Kevin Mirallas down the right wing, he can make the most of his opportunity at right back with Tony Hibbert out injured.

Shay said: "I'm an attacking defender and I like linking up with Kevin. I can give him the ball and get past him, then he can either use me or go himself. He's got great ability.

"I'd like to think we can do what the lads are doing on the left - maybe not to that extent because they're unreal but it's nice playing behind Kevin.

"It was probably some of the best attacking football I've been part of at Everton. You could sense from the crowd how well we were doing. We've got the two lads on the left and you can't say much more about them - they're just brilliant.

"And it was good the way me and Kevin kept switching it, and got a few nice goals.

"Right-back is my position and where I've played all my life until the first season here when I played right midfield. I'm just glad to be in the team and playing. I was pleased with the cross for Nikica Jelavic but I had a few crosses which didn't go to plan as well before I set him up.

"Tony Hibbert is out injured at the moment but everyone knows over the last 10 years how good and consistent he's been. I've a lot of work to do to get in at that position but luckily I've got great people to learn from.

"That's where I see my position and hopefully I can play there at Everton."

If we can have the right side with super Kev an Coleman as good as the left then wow...We have a really chance of doing something special this season! Loving Coleman at right back...feel for Hibbo. Get Gibbo fit an get him back in Mid for Neville! COYB

I agree with #1 Let the opposition worry about us going forward for a change rather than wondering how they will break us down. Long have the times gone when we'd be wondering if we'd score one goal in a game and if thats the first, struggling to hold on to a 1-0 win. I'd would much rather us win games 2-1, 3-2 even 4-3 and not keep clean sheets and just attack the opposition with the quality we have. Obviously Davey boy will have different views and expect clean sheets and more goals and who am I to judge......In Moyes we trust Its just nice now to know that if we go one or maybe even two down, you still have a feeling inside that will the quality we have and the chances we create, we are never out of a game until the final whistle! That's all very well Seamus, as long as you don't get caught out of position during a counter attack.

Lets hope Seamus gets a good run while Hibbo is out to prove his worth. Would rather see him in this position than Phil. He gives us so much more going forward, lets let the opposition worry about us attacking them for a change
