Ross Expected To Extend Loan
Bookmark and Share

Sheff Wed are hoping they can keep hold of youngster Ross Barkley.

Young Ross is due to return to Goodison after the Friday night against Leeds United.

Wednesday manager Dave Jones said: 'Hopefully we can keep Ross. I think they want us to have him because the kid hasn't done anything wrong.

'Ross is a kid and going to make mistakes, but he's some player when he drives on and plays the way he does.'

Do you think Ross should stay with the Owls?

Give him the season there if possible, January at least, he's gonna be bit part at best here this season. Next season he's gonna be the real deal. A full season of tough games in the championship will make a man of him. Then again, cant wait to see him back

NO!!! Hes played the same number of league games for Sheff Wed in a month than he has in the whole of his Everton career. I'd give him til January at least and allow him to get a few shortcomings out of his system. Let the lad get his feet under the table there and see if he can drive the team forward. Then hopefully he'll come back chomping at the bit for first team action.

Better off at Sheffield Wed. the lads still young and still has an awful lot to learn. Why does everyone pick on Ossie?. D

On balance I would bring him back. We don't have enough cover in midfield and we couldn't rely on Leon if both Felli and Gibbo are out for any reason, he just doesn't have the physical presence or enough fight in him. Probably Moyesie wants Barkley to toughen up a bit more at a place where he can't do us any damage when he makes inevitable mistakes, so it's understandable. Remember how easily his head went down when he gave away that penalty at Blackburn? But if he's going to make it he has to learn to take things like that on the chin and get on with things without brooding. He's got to become more tough minded and professional. He's got all the ability in the world. Whether he's got character to use it properly is another matter. Only he can decide. We've already had Jack Rodwell not fulfill his promise (yet), we don't want another.

With Felli and Gibbo not 100% I'd have him back and give him his head. He's obviously good enough, and if he stays in the Championship he'll get better, but, I think he might just be the real deal and if given trust and backing could be another great youngster breaking through.
