We had a nightmare against our lovely neighbours last season. David Moyes thinks we are getting closer to them. Well it's time to prove it. The fans are owed one and Moyesy believes we can all play our part in a much needed victory.
Moyesy said: "I think we are much closer. I think we went into the FA Cup semi-final as slight favourites because of our form, it didn't work out that way as we lost the game 2-1 but over my time here I think we have been playing catch-up with Liverpool. We have to say that honestly, that is the case.
"We are trying to get closer and I think we possibly go into this game slightly ahead of Liverpool by what people would think. But we need to prove it, we didn't do it in the game at Wembley so we have to try and do it in this one."
"The derbies are good. We've not had enough success in them but we enjoy being in them. We go into it in a good frame of mind, nice and positive with a lot of self-belief at this present time, so we'll see how we do.
"I think there is an extra buzz about the place leading up to this game. I've never known it any different. It's always anticipated greatly by the supporters and I'm sure this one will be as well."
