Blue Kipper Comment

Firstly, lets get this straight - Blue Kipper does not in any way ever condone a fan running onto the pitch during play for whatever reason.

On Saturday we found ourselves highlighted in the national media for the second time in a week for all the wrong reasons, just when the overblown furor had died down following the Merseyside Derby, a frustrated fan runs onto the pitch and attempts to swap shirts with Alex Nyarko.

Now the media, and anyone else with sinister opinion towards Everton Football Club, will read into and print all sorts of untruths when the facts are quite simple.

The facts are as follows :-

1. There has and never will be any racial intent towards any Everton player.
2. This could have been any Evertonian, in his dreams, venting his feelings.
3. We as Evertonians have suffered one of the worst seasons in our history.
4. We understand that the lad involved is not racist, has black friends, and has NEVER confronted Alex Nyarko before.
5. Alex Nyarko has been a total disappointment as an Everton player since his multi-million pound transfer.

If our performance this season could be likened to a West End show then surely it would have been curtailed long before the run was due to be ended. Not only that, but performances would have been greeted with not just slow hand claps but rotten fruit. The worst experience would surely be a paying guest running onto the stage to bring the show to a halt, if this happened the critics would be asking 'Why?'.

Isn't it about time that Everton Football Club asked themselves this question rather than fudging the issue, which is no doubt what we will all see in the press tomorrow? Blue Kipper (21/04/01)

Archie v Alex

So now the alleged truth emerges about the management style of Everton F C. Not only is Walter tactically inept. Archie Knox seems to have too much control! This is not the publicity Everton need right now, and the sooner Mr Kenwright sorts it out and stops defending these two misfits in English football we will be relegated next season.
Injuries are no excuse to our plight when our reserves win their title and the youth team has a excellent season. I would have given Dave Watson a crack as Colin Harvey as his deputy they could not do worse than these no hopers, by the way who paid 4 million for Nyarko in the first place! The chickens are coming home to roost Walter! John (25/05/01)

Give Youth a Chance

I feel that Nyarko should as a professional football player get on with his job, report to training and try to get back to normality. He has now just left the club in a terrible position and after his actions no-one will want go near him and if we do find a buyer it will be a lot less than the £4.5million we paid. He has shown himself to be a cowardly and unpassionate person after his performances on and off the pitch this season. The judgement of walter Smith I'm afraid has to come into question after this and the bakoyoko incident.
I'm desperate to see this club climb the table once more but the lack of a youth policy from the manager seems to make that impossible. £4.5 mill for a 27yr old who had (and still has) yet to prove himself is crazy in our perilous financial state. One word for the management ... 'YOUTH'. Niall Esler, 16, Northern Ireland. (12/05/01)

Sack The Scout

Well what game was the scout watchin when he went back to the mighty blues and suggested that we spend 4 and a half on grace Jones? absolute shocker of a signing, not only Nackers whom should get the boot but the fat prick of a European scout. Nyarko is crap on the pitch and he's even worse on fifa 2001 playstation. I think that Bellys antics should have made him think, hang on a fuckin tick, this struggling club has spent 4.5 million pounds (which is loads of cash) on me and there hope of premiership survival rest in the hands/feet of the Eleven whom don the mighty blue shirt, I'm going to pull my finger out, fat chance!! instead he goes AWOL. best result is to get shut of him and recoup the cash and invest in more pies for next season.
Big up da blue kipper from Rico in N.Z. (12/05/01)

What about the Manc Fan?

Our fan who ran onto the pitch at Highbury got the punishment for going onto the pitch, a 3 year ban from all english grounds, fair enough. So why didn't the manc who actually got onto the Man Utd. team photo get the same penalty? The rule clearly states that the ban is for going onto the pitch, our fan got the fine for encrouching Nyarko, not the ban. He went on the pitch and there's photographic evidence to prove it!! Great site, Tom. (08/05/01)

Fan Invasion

While not endorsing the fan's actions in running onto the pitch at Arsenal (Sat 21stApril), his actions I believe were totally vindicated. The lad spoke for ALL Evertonians, and a lot of other football supporters if articles in the press are to be taken seriously, when he berated a highly payed player for not putting in effort.
I believe that we owe him not only our thanks, but our support, and propose a collection be taken to pay his fine, £170
I believe. Where better to do it than at our hooley in the Taxi club.
Peter Rigby (27/04/01)

Whats all the fuss?

Whats all the fuss about the Mr Everton who basically represented the majority of fans at Highbury. Was Cavanagh rubbished when he chose to disrupt a cup final? Or Mark Narky Ward when he stuck two fingers up to the paddock. (okay maybe the latter was) The lad concerned is a top blue who never misses. Nothing special one way or the other with what he did saturday. Just one thing though he cares more about Everton than them prinos in royal blue shirts representing us. Nomarko is a disgrace with his slanderous lies about it being a rascist incident. I know the fellow and can honestly say he's no rascist. At no time has he approached Nomarko before saturday. Our African is a liar. Nomarko 14k per week, Mr Everton 14k per annum. I know who I would have in the trenches with me and who will be at Everton if we ever go down. professional man. (25/04/01)

Ban the fan for a year

The fan probably feels a bit of a plonker now but as the guy said in a previous email, 30,000 others were thankful he did it.
It will highlight to the players what the true feelings of fans are. These fans have supported the club for 10 to 30 years and sometimes more. ONLY THESE fans know the feelings of loyalty week-in-week-out. Do these high-priced primadonna's really know what it feels like to be dejected most Saturday nights? We do. Year-in-year-out. As we've heard from so many people - if you try and fail it's not a sin. If you don't try and then fail, it's a crying shame. They may only play at Everton for a few years and bugger off to pastures new with their healthy savings. The fan, like many others, lives and breathes the club and probably struggles to pay every week. He is a real supporter - he pays his hard-earned money to journey around the country to be constantly disappointed. Ban him from all games for a year. Let him back after a warning, the shock of a possible ban should be enough. All his Everton mates will thank him for years to come, something outrageous needs to be done to be the catalyst for our club to start going UP not DOWN. We all loved it when the guy ran on in the 1966 cup win. Even Cantona who kicked an idiot in the ground was allowed to play again. Who was the idiot there? Let's keep this incident in perspective.
Another frustrated Blue. (25/04/01)

It's down to Walter

When is Bill gonna wake up and smell the coffee about walter? The man hasnt got a clue, his tactics are terrible he's bought nothing but crap, picks his mates above better players/fitter players i.e. gough in the derby, pistone before hibbert etc.
Now nyarco has quit, the big girls blouse, but who was the man who sold hutchinson and mccan for £3 million for the two of them and buys nyarco for £4.5 million. What a replacement walter! Basically he hasnt a clue and has got to go one way or another at the end of the season.
Anyway the website is top so keep it up, and the blues will get there one day. Tony Gavin. (25/04/01)

Get the youngsters in

How can Everton pay 4.5 million for a player who should be playing for Chester. I have never seen someone so big who is a wimp in challengers, he cant shoot either and because a fan has a go at him he cant hack it. I hear this has happened 3 times before cant he take a hint. Everton should get some top quality youngsters in. What was Nayako bought for to talk to the lads in the changingroom because it wasnt for his foot balling qualities. It could do Everton some good to go down into division 1 for a season or 2 so they can rebuild their squad and may be be half decent when they come back up. Graeme (24/04/01)

He deserves all he gets

Obviously Nyarko deserves all the condemnation he gets on this page - his courage in the face of adversity is there for all to see - "Please sir can I go home now !". Where was he as Viera trampled through the middle for the definitive 3rd goal.
Can I just say - Why is Pistone getting so much flack ? He has been injured all season - not the only one - and played out of position mainly when he got back. On Saturday nothing was coming at us down the right flank as he was dealing with all the Arsenal runs over there and Pires and Ljungberg kept swapping to have some fun running at Xavier - who was shocking. Lets at least let him play half a dozen games and get some fitness behind him before you write him off. Oh yeah - Bye Nyarko.
Lee Doyle. (23/04/01)

It's an honour to wear the shirt

Firstly I along with Blue Kipper can't condone what happened at highbury on Saturday, however lets try understand how this fan feels having spent good money to watch a useless twat run around with his head up his arse doing nothing as he as done all season. Some of the players who wear this famous BLUE shirt should realise it's an honour to wear the shirt and start playing as if they want to wear it and not just take the money every week. I would gladly wear it ( and probably do better) for enough money so I could pay my way every week and not for the umpteen thousands some of the useless bastards are paid week in week out. Bill it's time to take stock of the club before we become the laughing stock of football and get rid of the gutless bastards who are not fit to wear the famous BLUE shirt and that includes the little twat ( I'll wiat until the end of the season) Jeffers. For far to long this club as underachived and languised at the wrong end of the table. Finally a word to the loyal thousands who follow this great club week in and week out ( unfortunately not me due to work commitments) thanks and well done your a credit to the club.
Craig the Wiganer. (23/04/01)

Nyarko isn't the only one

Let's be honest about it the fan on Saturday could have picked any one of eight or nine of the players. Nyarko hasn't been any better or worse then half the existing squad. The frustarations of a crap season are being taken out on one player which is unjustified. Having said that Nyarko should of shown some determination and stayed on the pitch and prove us wrong.
Let's just hope we stay up and let's get this f******* season over with. Paul. (23/04/01) London.

He'd get his arse kicked by the 4 year girl next door

On the subject of the fan running on the pitch at Arsenal this wekend, I have to say I fully understand where this guy is coming from.
I have been very disappointed with Nyarko since he arrived, he is constantly talking about how well he wants to play for the club and that we haven't seen the best of him yet, but at the end of the day he is like 80% of the other muppets we have at the club - there for the money. Someone actually commented that Nyarko looked like a middleweight boxer when he signed, tall, muscular and tough looking. Well if he was a boxer, I reckon he'd get his arsed kicked by the 4 year old girl next door. He won't tackle, can't win a header, passes to invisible players and generally just strolls round the pitch like he's talking a summer walk on Formby beach.
The fan in question was wrong for what he did and he will undoubtedly be punished by the club for his actions, but I know I and probably 30,000 other people who have witnessed the total lack of tactical ability of our manager and pathetic efforts of the majority of players, have all thought about running on the pitch and giving each and every one of the playing staff a mouthful.
I only hope that the actions of this fan, who has surely lost all right to watch another Goodison match, make the powers that be stand up and be counted.
We need money and we need it now, Bill is indeed a true blue and like any of us would, he seized the opportunity to take control of the one true passion in his life, but quite simply it is not working. He has spent money, but he just doesn't have enough, this club needs somewhere in the region of £60Million spent on it just to compete with the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle. God only knows when we'll see the days that Utd, Arsenal and the filth are actually worried about us !
I consider myself a born and bred blue, I was sitting on my Dad's lap, in the mainstand at the age of 18 months, I've been watching Everton for over 20 years and it breaks my heart to see the state this club is in. Come on boys, this simply can't continue.
Chris Jackson. (23/04/01)

Boycott the club for a couple of months

Why do Everton fans know that we will get twatted at the likes of Arsenal the other day?( I predicted 5-0). The answer, is that we know some of our players are gutless and lack geniune fight and commitment and overall, quality. Alex Nyarko is a player who has for some reason, thought he could get away with strolling around the pitch and getting £25,000 a week or whatever. HE
THOUGHT WRONG!!! The reason he wants to quit is that he can't handle being told that his attitude stinks and should not play for Everton, whose fans want 100% every game. Alright, so we won't win every game, but ask any bluenose and they will tell you that even if we lost to someone like Arsenal 4-1, they can say the players tried their best. At this moment in time, some of the Everton team are not trying their best and it is a bloody outrage and I for one, would love fans to turn their backs on the club for a couple of months and trust me, THEY WOULD SHIT THEMSELVES, and action would be taken to try and turn the club around, not just fucking gutless broken promises.Frustrated Blues Fan, SHAUN COX, Kirkdale. (23/04/01)

Well Done

I know the fan, from long ago when he had hair. It took some one else to point out who it was before it sank in .This man goes every where he deserves the right to go on the pitch and ask that twat where hes heart is. Lets be honest we know were no were near a top eight place but we want to see players give 100% . Well done mate, you did what thousands have wanted to do, we want
players to wear that shirt like michael ball , with pride ! True Blue Willo. (23/04/01)

Get behind the players

So some dickhead fancies himself as the voice of the Goodison faithful does he? Well congratulations cunthooks, you've just got yerself a life ban from Everton and for what? You get yourself in the papers and destroy a lads life and career. I know as well as anyone that Nyarko has been shit this year, and by the sounds of things he knows the same himself. In spite of what he says any player who talks of retirement at 28 is obviously not happy. So lets look at the possible outcomes of your actions:
1) We lose Nyarko. No bad thing on the face of it, except now we can't even get our money back on a player that still has a good reputation in France, cos he's "retired".

2) We now invoke the suspended fine that was hanging over us from the Coventry game when one of your knobhead mates threw a coin or something at the Cov goalie.

3) WS talks it all down, but behind the scenes the morale is fucked with all the players wondering which one of them will be next. Unsy, Ball, Moore, Gerrard have all had their fair share. Anyone feel confident for the Bradford game?

4) On the plus side there's one less twat at Goodison.

Am I the only one who sees the difference between this years squad and the ones we've suffered under the Kendall, Walker, early Smith years? We've now got good players who are suffering from a dire lack of confidence, whereas previously we've just been left with shit players. Who wouldn't take Gravesen over Farrelly, Alexandersson over Ward, Pembridge over Claus Thomson, Steve Watson over Earl Barrett?
Think about it lads, you've seen how they react when we get behind them. But if they are being booed and jeered in the first five minutes then we are all fucked.

As the Blue Kipper says.....Call Y'self an Evertonian? Well start showing it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve N. (22/04/01)

Name THAT fan

Man of the match - answers obvious. Who are you cos without doubt you alone have caused the issues that all true fans have known for weeks to get on to the back pages of major newspapers. If that half wit jock manager could not see what was needed then he really is the tosser I believe him to be. After we are safe (v Bradford) we should not be afraid to complain and get on the backs of those shitheads (Gerrard, Pistone and that jock twat Smith etc) who have continually let us down. I know the importance of this game but the quality of the true Evertonians on the pitch will pull us through. Things will never change whilst there are those in the crowd who will not allow criticism. John Waugh. (22/04/01)

THAT fan apologises

Regarding the unfortunate incident at yesterday's match with Alex Nyarko, I have spoken with the fan involved and he would like to make a statement as regards to some misguiding on reports of the matter. Firstly it was not race motivated, some of the lads best friends are coloured and there was no racist remarks exchanged or slogans on the shirt which was again unfortunately black. The shirt colour could have been pink or blue it was not designed as a racist statement .The fan said to Nyarko that he was not worthy of wearing the shirt of Everton and wanted to exchange it for his own. Secondly the fan has never spoken to or met Nyarko so close up before as it was stated that the fan has done this before to Alex Nyarko. The fan in question sends his apologies to his fellow fans and to the club for the embarrassment incurred ,it was borne out of frustration from a bitterly disappointing season. The fan says he could not stomach it anymore after traveling down to London to watch the club he loves and seeing certain players not wearing the shirt with pride , passion or commitment and being paid a kings ransom . The whole thing got to him he has followed Everton home and away for thirty years and expects the worse from the club regarding being banned . I believe though in his defence that it will hurt this fan far more not to watch the team he clearly loves so much than allot of the players who wore the Everton shirt at Arsenal ,Man City, Bristol Rovers and Tranmere / Ipswich at home.
The fan does not want in anyway to appear a hero to his fellow fans but still feels frustration of the teams poor unacceptable performances alarmingly the norm,he is deeply sorry for his actions and wishes that his apologies will be accepted. He can't turn back the clock but just maybe his unacceptable actions might stir something in certain players minds what this club means to the fans for the last three vitally important games.
Yours sincerely Ian Macdonald. E.I.S.A. (22/04/01)

Just give 100% every game

What Nyarko did proves his heart isn't at the club. When Nyarko does go I hope he takes Gerrard, Cleland, Xavier, Steven Hughes, Gravesen, Pistone and Steve Watson with him. And if Jeffers wants to go and play for a 'bigger club' then he should follow the gang of gutless shit houses that seem to infiltrate the club we love. So I say fuck him off.
Apart from Ball, Naysmith, Weir, Unsworth, Gemmill, Alexandersson, Ferguson, Campbell, and the kids who haven't been given a go, the rest need fucking off.
This has been the worst season I can remember - getting turned over by the Scum twice in the manner we did, gutless performances week in week out, being two goals up at home to Derby and then hanging on for a point, only being able to play any one half with any conviction, etc,etc . The season's been a disaster apart from Arsenal and Chelsea at home and Coventry and Newcastle away. The rest of the time we've stunk. Yes I know that we've had a terrible injury crisis but doesn't this suggest that the training sessions and the way they are run aren't working?
All we're asking for is a team that gives 100% every game, it's not that much to ask for is it? Mark C. (22/04/01)

Don't change your mind

So Nyarko wants to quit football. I have to make an impassioned plea to him over this.....please please Alex DON'T CHANGE YOUR FUCKIN' MIND !!! Just get your bags together and GO!!! The guy is completely useless. Why the hell Walter picks him is beyond everyone's comprehension !! All Walt has to do is throw his shirt on the pitch..it will cause the opposing team more problems than Nyarko actually wearing it !!!! He has been a waste of space all season. Doesn't like getting his kit dirty does he?
All in all , the game against arsenal wasn't a complete loss....at least we have got rid of this money grabbing foreigner.. Every cloud has a silver lining..and Nyarko quitting is a BIG silver lining on a very small cloud.. :) Blue Barry . (22/04/01)

Nyarko is not the only one

Following Saturdays incident involving Nyarko I can't help but feel sorry for the player as he is not the only one who isn't playing very well but you do get the impression when watching him that at least he is trying his best. Other players such as Alexandersson, Pistone, and The sharpshooting Pembridge should be the ones getting the grief. It is sad that when we go to grounds like Highbury I just know what the result is going to be and that we will be Spineless again. I would like to see us be able to go away and defend solidly rather than feeling comfortable when the first goal goes against us as I am no longer waiting for the inevitable. Still there is always next year! Fraser. (22/04/01)

Hairy back shocker

I've only got one problem with bald blue running onto the pitch and slagging off grace jones....he missed the rest of the team off.
Probably for the best he didn't swap shirts ...he'd only get fuckin' injured and spend the rest of the season on the side lines.
We all know them red bastards can make this season a lot worse yet so get that prozac ready. We need a new squad, a new ground and possibly a new manager cos I'm sick of Walter staying so calm while us lot rip our hair out. I just hope he wins the rollover first though. Just a quick prediction though.....Nyarko doesn't quit, we sell him for less than a million and he gets Euro player of the year....you heard it here first! Pete Gillespie. (22/04/01)

Management to blame

Perhaps the supporter didn't have the strength to go round the pitch and present his T shirt where it rightly belonged, the EVERTON BENCH. I know Nyarko has been crap for virtually all of this season, but whose fault is it for playing him? Also to single out Nyarko is going a bit far, it could have be anyone out of eight. We have players like HIBBERT, CLARKE , McCLEOD who would die for this club, but where are they, either on the bench or left behind at home. Graham Stuart was on Sky this morning praising Everton supporters. It is a pity that the current management didn't give a bit more thought to the travelling fans. The Golden Vision still lives in my heart Jim Farley. (22/04/01) Goodison Park Studley (I hope I don't have to take down my Goodison Park sign from my House (as if I would))

Smith should have seen this coming

Nyarko should not have had to make this decision. That useless twat Smith should have seen this coming months ago.
This overpaid and overrated cunt has taken the club and the fans for a ride ever since he came here, along with Smith ,Gerrard (the worst keeper(?)i have ever seen at Everton ), Pistone and Hughes. He should stick to his guns and never play for Everton again. Colin Hughes. (22/04/01)

Nyarko the Pansy

all Nyarko does is pansy around and wimp out of tackles. he got knocked clean off the ball by players half his size and weight countless numbers of times. He's a waste of space, and if he quits so easily, it strengthens the fact that he has absolutely no determination, and is absolutely crap. He follows in the footsteps of Imbrahim Bakayoko - if things aint workin out - quit. That's no way for a bloke who's getting paid thousands for arsing around on a football field to think. He shud try!!!!!! Celtic Blue. (22/04/01)
