Andrew Jones R.I.P.

Andrew died on 10th March 2003 after being attacked by a gang in Hanover Street, Liverpool following a night out with family and friends. So far no one has been convicted of his murder, but we will not give up until they are brought to justice.

Andrew was a lifelong Evertonian, and a season ticket holder for many years. His favourite players were Duncan Ferguson and Andre Kanchelskis, his favourite game was the FA Cup Final against United in 1995.

His funeral took place at St. Luke's church, with Rev. Harry Ross, on the 3rd April 2003, the day after his 19th birthday, the same place he was Christened eighteen years earlier. Our lives are now empty without him. He leaves behind three sisters and a brother, Adele, Jeannette, Lora and Christopher. Since his death we have set up a website in his memory, and also to help us catch the people responsible for his death. I know Andrew will be so proud of Everton now.

Joe Vine R.I.P.

The guy on the right is Joe Vine a lifelong Evertonian, that is for over 70 years. Sadly Joe died a few weeks ago, and his lifelong matchday companion Harry (on the left) was devastated, as we all were. On hearing that Joe could no longer attend the match due to his illness, Sharpy turned up totally unanounced and, according to Joe's son, they couldn't get rid of him. YOU DON'T READ ABOUT THAT IN THE ECHO do you! A great final tribute from a true club. Thank you Everton and you too Graeme, believe me it was truly appreciated. R.I.P. Joe, a true blue. This tribute comes from Harry, Mark, Marcus, Frank, David and his family, and all at the Top House.

Jack Birchall R.I.P.

Jack Birchall, Norris Green, who was a lifelong season ticket holder who the Isle Of Man and Neston fans used to drink with before and after the games together with his Downs Syndrome son Donald? They weren't at the Birmingham game and then when they weren't there on Saturday either alarm bells started to ring and I rang Donald's Care Home to be told that Jack had died about 3 weeks ago. Jack was 86 on 19th October so he was born in 1921.

He was a great bloke and great company in the St Francis de la Salle club at games ... Donald would start the singing and Jack would always join in. The IOM lads got to know them seven years ago in the St Francis de la Salle Club where we'd meet up with the Neston lads. Jack was a widower. He does have other family who I have never met but Donald (with Downs Syndrome) was always at the games with him and he will be 50 at the end of January.

All our thoughts go out to the family, Donald in particular.

Juan Kermode Chairman, IOM Supporters Club (27/11/07)

Liam Costello R.I.P.

Liam, was my son. He went up to play with Bally, Labby and Dixie on 26th of October. He was a mad Evertonian and worshipped Mikel. When he was young I would tell him “see the blood in your arms it is Royal Blue but when you cut yourself it comes out red, that’s because it's gone bad”. I miss him beyond words and will always love him. His dad Liam snr.

Liam aged 11 has gone to play on that great football pitch in the sky. An avid and passionate Everton fan (just like his dad) he will be sadly missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have known him. This beautiful boy always had a kind word and a smile for all that he met. A gifted boy who loved to play his football with passion and with a smile on his face. R.I.P. Liam, you will be sadly missed. Paul Hill. (30/10/07)

John (Jack) Bouvier - 26th Dec 1932 - 24th July 2007

My Dad. Born in Kirkdale and a lifelong Evertonian. My fondest childhood memories include our matchday routine and the walk from Suffield Road to Goodison with my dad, brother, uncles and cousins. Dad's funeral was a great tribute to his life and I would like to thank all the blues (and everyone else) who turned up to say goodbye - the Z-cars theme at the end of the service raised smiles and tears from most present. Ciaran Garry R.I.P.

Ciaran Garry passed away on 16th June 2007 aged 28. He was living in Korea for the last couple of years, before returning home back to Ireland after hearing news he had cancer (something he had fought and beaten when he was 15). Ciaran was an avid Cork City, Celtic and Everton fan, and used to try and make it to Goodison Park at least once a year. He enjoyed drinking around County Road after the games, and always loved the banter and spirit of fellow Everton fans. Despite living many miles away, Ciaran was a regular on the EFC message boards and I know was looking forward to the new season and the prospect of European football.

He had a hard life at times, but always dealt with it with amazing optimism, humour, honour and sincerity like the true Irishman he was.

Rest in peace. Mike Allen. (24/08/07)

Cause you live on in me even after you've gone

R.I.P & God Bless Phil x. Regards Paul.

Margaret Newman R.I.P. (23.11.23—30.6.07)

Margaret was an Everton Season ticket holder for 40 years and at the age of 82 continued to attend until early this year. Initially accompanied by husband Len (until his death in 1971) and son Tony. He will continue to fly the flag along with her Grandson Alex. She will be particularly missed in the Queens pub before the match where she enjoyed the banter, the fun, and a medicinal double scotch. Her only concessions to old age were to stop going to Derby matches after Dixie's sad demise (too stressful) and insisting on leaving the pub 10 minutes earlier (’I can’t run these days’) The picture shows her just before Christmas in the Queens with Grandson Alex. In line with her wishes the coffin entered the chapel to the strains of ‘Z Cars’. Tony Newman (24/07/07)

Arthur Roy Roberts R.I.P.

Arthur was the presenter and voice of Goodison Park for 10 years from 1978 -1988 during some of our finest hours. So most here will know him if only by voice at the Match. He died suddenly at home on the 22 May 2007.

His funeral was at St Luke's taken by Rev Ross, and later at the Dixie Dean suite.

He leaves 7 children and 7 grandchildren, all of which miss him very much. Stuart Gray

TOM SANDERS R.I.P.

Tom, a lifelong True Blue, passed away at the end of March 2007. He proudly followed the Blues home & away, until ill-health gradually took over his life. As a youngster, he saw the great Dixie Dean, and he always used to tell us of the time he climbed into Boundary Park, Oldham to see the Blues clinch promotion back to the 1st Division in the early-1950's. Tom's favourite player in later years was the incomparable Alan Ball. To be privileged to know Tom, was to love him, and he is sadly missed by all his family and friends. R.I.P. Alan Ball R.I.P.

Everton and England Legend Alan Ball has sadly died of a heart attack during the night. Bally as he was affectionately known by everyone in the footballing fraternity was 61.The highlight of his career came on a balmy July day in 1966 when as the youngest member of that great England team he helped lift the World Cup when we defeated the Germans 4-2 after extra time at Wembley. Bally went on to sign for the Blues later that Summer and in 1970 helped the Blues win the Football League Championship. (25/04/07)

Tributes To Bally           Tribute Song To Bally

Kingsman Alan Joseph Jones R.I.P.

There will be a minutes silence at Goodison Park before the Portsmouth game for Alan. (02/05/07)

I am writing this as a tribute to my cousin and one of my best mates, our Alan. He was taken from us on 23.04.07 where he was shot and killed in Basra. This event has ripped the guts out of our family. Alan was a diamond, he was always joking, always laughing, always there when you needed him. He was due home in 4 weeks time,he was gagging for a bevi, and wanted to get home to his family in Dovecot. The last time I was out with him was the day of the anfield derby, 3 days before he was due to go back to Iraq. I spoke to him last wednesday, and he was looking forward to 2 days in Cyprus, then home, on the the grog! This is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to write in my life, but I had to do it. Alan lost one of his best friends 2 weeks ago (Adam Smith) which he had taken bad, What a waste of two young lives. Alan was a blue amongst a family of reds (he took the right path) Good night God Bless Al ! you and smudge can cheer the blues on from the best seat in the house. Alan leaves behind his mum Julie, dad Alan, sister Keeley, and younger brothers John age 12 and Reece aged 5...... Love Ya always kidda! From Micky Houghton.. (cousin)

Jim Kearney R.I.P.

I am still to upset to type out a fitting tribute to Jim's life. He was a great mate to all of us and I don't think anyone disliked him. How could they? He bent over backwards to please everyone. They say you can't be all things to all men, well whoever said that never met Jim Kearney. We love Jim to bits and have cried bitter tears of sadness and are heartbroken for his lovely Wife Ann and lovely kids, Owen, Ellen, Roseanne and Phelim and for his extended family of Irish Evertonians. He can never be replaced and all we are lucky to have a lot of happy memories and thousands of legendary stories to tell. As Labby once said, one Evertonian is worth 20 Liverpudlians, well multiply that by a million and you have our Jim! Dermot Nealon (23/04/07)
