Hands Up If You Support the shite
Hands Up If You Support the shite

On this day in 1977 Everton played the shite in an FA Cup Semi Final at Maine Road.

The game was officiated by a bent Welsh bastard called Clive Thomas who robbed us of a place in the FA Cup Final.

With the game standing at 2-2, our goals coming from Bruce Rioch and Duncan Mackenzie, in the last minutes Ronnie Goodlass broke down the left and crossed for Brian Hamilton to bundle the ball over the line for the winner. Toffeemen went mental........but wait, the whistle has gone, what for? Offside? No, it wasn't offside. Handball? No it wasn't handball? What for then? Fuck Knows?

Only Clive Thomas to this day knows why he disallowed that goal and lets face it, when did a referee ever tell the truth?

Lying, cheating bastards, Thomas, Elleray, Durkin, Poll, Clattenburg.................

During my time living in Carlisle,in the 80's I got to know Colin Seel quite well.Seel was the linesman that day and he was haring back to the halfway line for the game to restart when he noticed that Thomas had disallowed the goal.He said that when they got back to the dressing room Thomas said that there had been 'an incident'. How that goal may have changed Merseyside football history!Just another little incident in a derby match that went against us hey! COYB
